Job Description

Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain the Director of Procurement & Quality Assurance is responsible for demand planning, forecasting, procurement, quality assurance and logistics strategies and execution to ensure optimal inventory levels, product mixt, cost competitiveness and product quality. S/He works to reduce inventory costs and improve inventory turns while meeting or exceeding the expectations of service and quality levels. S/He minimizes replenishment and manages inventory budget restraints, such as warehouse space and company's cash flow. He is responsible to maintain the integrity for databases of purchases and inventory.



The Director of Procurement and Quality Assurance work to mobilize his team, value the individuals and ensure their development.



He performs other related duties as requested by his immediate supervisor, all in accordance with internal procedures and rules.



TASKS RELATED TO FUNCTION



Employee Management 20 %



Lead a team of buyers, quality assurance technicians, logistic experts, planners and inventory demand experts. Set expectations and communicates them to his employees using actionable KPIs. Manages the daily performance gives positive feedback if deserved and realigns when necessary. Conducts annual performance evaluations. Ensure transmission and fluidity of communications within his team. Ensure proper training and development of his employees. Ensures the recruitment of employees under his responsibility.

Procurement & Quality Assurance 70 %



Lead all strategic initiatives related to his scope by working closely with operations, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and finance. Plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates the procurement and supply activities. Innovate to improve demand planning and forecasting accuracy to maximize inventory turns. Negotiate long-term contracts and pricing with key suppliers. Evaluate, qualify, and manage supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, reliability). Ensure compliance with regulations, sustainability, and ethical sourcing policies. Optimize lead times, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Lead all inbound logistics activities at the operational and strategic levels. Collaborate with the Marketing and Product Management departments to identify and liquidate slow moving inventory. Define strategies to improve quality of the product and oversee execution of the strategies including quality planning and standards, supplier & incoming material control, process quality control, inspections, returns, documentation and traceability, continuous improvement and compliance & customer interface. Design and elaborate technical documentation and procurement policies to allow of efficiencies improvement Participate and support the S&OP process.

Budget and labour planning 10 %



Prepare annually, estimated salary and travel budget and benefits for all permanent employees. Manage budgets for purchasing and logistics. Track cost savings, working capital, and return on supply chain investments. Implement KPIs for procurement and quality assurance efficiency.

ACADEMIC ASPECTS AND EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, forecasting and procurement. Strong knowledge of demand planning, forecasting and quality assurance. Strong knowledge of strategic planning and supply chain. Knowledge of SAP (ERP) is an asset Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and PowerBI is an asset. Fluent in English and good knowledge of French. Good knowledge of the tire and wheel industry, as well as seasonal products, would be an asset. Have valid travel documents (passport).

Any combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

This position requires travel outside Quebec and oversea (10%-20%)
