BayRides is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as our Director of Operations --a pivotal role responsible for steering the organization's day-to-day operations while shaping its long-term direction. As the driving force behind BayRides' services, the Director of Operations will oversee staff, assets, and service delivery, ensuring BayRides' mission is fulfilled: to provide safe, accessible, and personalized transportation for the St. Margaret's Bay community. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this role requires strong relationship-building with clients, stakeholders, government, and community partners.

This is a part-time position of 25 hours per week.
Key Accountabilities:
? Ensure BayRides' service meets community needs, including securing stable capital and operational funding from diverse sources while maintaining and/or increasing ridership.
? Oversee financial planning and operational performance by monitoring budgets and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure cost-effective service delivery aligned with client expectations and strategic objectives.
? Support the development of social media and brand awareness, including public information, promotional materials, and media messaging for clients, potential clients, and the public, in collaboration with the Communications Marketing Committee.
? Identify and prepare grant applications to secure program funding, in conjunction with the Communications Marketing Committee.
? Effectively manage the Dispatcher, Financial Administrator, and Fleet Administrator to ensure smooth daily operations.
? Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements.
? Provide strategic consultation to staff in identifying process improvements and solutions to operational challenges, ensuring alignment with organizational capacity, financial sustainability, and strategic direction.
? Hold regular meetings with the BayRides team to share updates, gather feedback, and stay informed about operational developments.
? Perform other duties as required to support the organization's mission and operations.
? Foster meaningful engagement with the St. Margaret's Bay community by initiating outreach efforts, building partnerships, and promoting BayRides' services through events, communications, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen public awareness and support.
What You Need to Be Successful in This Role:
? A degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field.
? 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations management, ideally in a dynamic, service-oriented environment.
? Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence.
? Strong capabilities in data analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
? Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and a mindset for continuous improvement.
? Experience in the non-profit sector is a valuable asset.
? Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve challenges swiftly and effectively.
? Proven leadership in organizing, managing, and motivating teams.
? Skilled in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
? Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing demands.
? Proficiency in Google Drive Operating Environment for non-profits, with a passion for mastering software tools that enhance customer success.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience
