Our nursing home (your new home?) is a 100-bed person-centered care home located in Sussex, New Brunswick. You will be joining approximately 130 other caring and amazing staff members who interact daily with our residents and their families.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Nursing plans, organizes, directs, operates and coordinates nursing, clinical, and administrative matters. Additionally, the DON oversees and leads the Activities and Rehabilitation departments. The DON may fill in for the Administrator in her absence.

In this role, the Director of Nursing oversees and coordinates all nursing staff and overall nursing operations of our home. The DON duties include evaluating and directing all nursing employees, establishing goals and policies for the nursing department, and will work alongside all departments of the home to uphold the Kiwanis standard of care. You will also promote our culture of a collaborative and supportive workplace, so that all nursing staff will be able to do their best in caring for our residents each day.

You will also be part of a dedicated leadership team of six professionals who lead with heart.

What we hope you can offer us:

Current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing supplemented by recognized courses in administration and/or health care or equivalent, a minimum of three years relevant supervisory experience in Nursing Management at a senior level, effective communication and interpersonal skills, a high degree of leadership, supervisory and administrative ability, and the ability to apply all of these skills with our residents, their families, our staff, and other health care professionals.

What we can offer you:

An annual salary of $100,717.50, 5 weeks vacation, pension, group benefits (Kiwanis covers your full health and dental premiums), a wellness program, standard working hours from 8AM - 4PM, and treats in the office on a regular basis.
