Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Director of Marketing at our home office located at 10 Prairie Way, in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

The Director of Marketing adds value to our Co-operative by developing our marketing strategy and managing our community investment portfolio. The Director of Marketing selects centralized marketing campaigns from Federated Co-operatives Limited to execute locally, while creating marketing and communications campaigns and sponsorships to support Red River Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s local business goals. They also lead all community investment work including partnership stewardship, donation approvals and drives, community engagement and marketing.

co-operative with 49 gas bar locations, 23 car washes, six cardlocks, nine food stores, two standalone pharmacies and an oil supply centre. Our fleet of trucks are on the road delivering fuel to farm and commercial accounts in Manitoba and northwestern Ontario.

About the Role:

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Develop a marketing strategy for brand, membership acquisition, and commodity marketing that enhances the organization\xe2\x80\x99s image and foster sales growth.
  • Create and execute marketing campaigns and media planning, buying and budgeting and report on outcomes.
  • Direct team in creating on-brand and marketing materials including print ads, digital ads, newsletters, billboards, social media and in-store signage.
  • Manage media and public relations and speak on behalf of Red River Co-op in print, radio and TV interviews.
  • Develop Red River Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s community investment strategy and review annually.
  • Evaluate campaigns and partnerships annually to ensure they are meeting our goals and objectives.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
  • An undergraduate degree in business or communications
  • 8+ years of marketing and communications experience, including at least 2 years at a managerial level.
  • Generalist marketing knowledge and leadership ability is acquired.
  • Community investment or sponsorship experience is an asset.
