Overview:

At Bowhead - we design and build innovative products for individuals with limited mobility - including our line up of adaptive electric mountain bikes and our new product line of light-weight manual wheelchairs.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Director to lead our operations team of 10+ including production and purchasing/inventory. Familiarity with similar sized teams and products will be an asset as well as passion to continue growing our community of bowhead riders to experience freedom like they never have before.

Primary Responsibilities:



Manage, coach and develop a high-performance operations team (production, purchasing and product engineering) Report on and be responsible for the overall performance of the operations team including production output and quality, purchasing and performance against a budget. Develop operations team performance goals and long-term operational plans. Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity. Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration. Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary. Report to the President / CEO and collaborate with leadership team members to align manufacturing activities with sales forecasts, demand planning, and budgetary constraints.

Other Responsibilities:



Oversee and direct the production team to manage day-to-day manufacturing operations Develop and implement strategic plans that align with Bowhead's overall goals. Manage the procurement team and create methods to ensure inventory availability, create and manage strategic vendor relationships and manage costs. Work with Bowhead's Inventory Manager and Product Engineer to improve processes within the MRP and other business systems. Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and drive performance. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards. Implement Lean methods and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Create and drive initiatives for sustainability, waste reduction and environmental compliance within the manufacturing processes. Create and sustain an environment of safety throughout Bowhead. Participate in and contribute towards new product development projects
