About the Opportunity
The key mandate of this position is to ensure the organization implements its short, mid, and long-range housing strategy to achieve its goals and objectives in relation to social housing and band housing and their related programs and services. The Director of Housing will develop and design services and programs to promote quality of place and quality of life for tenants and residents, as it relates to band housing and social housing. Programs and services include maintenance and renovations programs and services, tenant relations programs and services, collections programs, mortgage and insurance programs, and developing and implementing policies and procedures that support administering the department and relationship building with all stakeholders.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Housing will be responsible for overseeing all budget management responsibilities for the housing department, including special renovations projects, and will assist and support the HTC in guiding their fiduciary responsibilities it as it relates to operational housing budgets, finances, and forecasting. Working collaboratively with the Supervisor, the Director of Housing will monitor and ensure financial obligations are met, for compliance and reporting.

You have experience working in social housing and property management, and you have an in-depth understanding about administrative control systems and structures necessary for social housing. You have a professional and diplomatic presentation and demonstrated experience working with planning, strategy, policy, administration, and your understand the interconnectedness of statutes and policy work. Experience working in social housing and property management, or related field of work.
Budget planning and budget management skills, and reporting.
Deep understanding of social housing issues faced by tenants.
Proven executive leadership experience, ideally within a First Nation or Indigenous housing context.

Demonstrated experience leading a team that includes administrative staff and maintenance workers.
Demonstrated experience and diplomacy working with high-level political, legal, and community leaders in complex and sensitive governance matters.
Understanding of social policy and emerging trends in housing.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Excel).

About the Total Rewards
