We are currently seeking a
Director of Finance
to lead our financial operations, deliver strategic insights to executive leadership, and ensure compliance, governance, and fiscal accountability in a high-velocity retail and distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own and evolve the financial strategy of the organization, aligning it with short- and long-term business goals.
Lead the full suite of financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, reporting, internal controls, treasury, and risk management.
Build and deliver financial models to support strategic decision-making and capital planning.
Drive improvements in financial systems, controls, and cross-departmental processes to enable scalability.
Deliver timely, data-driven insights to the executive teams using BI tools and KPI dashboards.
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (CRA, GAAP, tax filings, audit readiness, etc.).
Partner with the senior leaders on strategic planning, investment prioritization, and growth initiatives.
Manage financial risk including cash flow, credit exposure, inventory obsolescence, and vendor agreements.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team including accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and financial analysts.
Mandatory Qualifications

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing.
10+ years of progressive financial leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role (Director, VP, or equivalent) in retail, distribution, or manufacturing sectors.
Demonstrated experience leading a multi-entity or high-volume transactional environment.
Expertise in ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite), Excel financial modeling, and BI/reporting tools.
Proven ability to lead teams of 10+ finance professionals across functional areas.

Do not hold an active CPA designation.
Lack direct experience in retail, distribution, or inventory-centric industries.
Have not led financial strategy or executive-level budgeting initiatives.
Cannot commute to or relocate to Kanata (this is an onsite leadership role).
Do not have people management experience overseeing full-scope financial functions.
