Coldstream Clear's operations team works to maximize efficiency and execute many improvements internally throughout operations. Operations include a main production facility in Truro, Nova Scotia as well as four retail locations in Stewiacke, Dartmouth, Antigonish, and Truro, totaling over 100 employees throughout. Your Role


We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Engineering & Facilities to ensure equipment and facility operations improve and adapt to support brand growth. This role requires a proactive leader who thrives on solving problems creatively, implementing structure, high quality workmanship, and driving continuous improvement. Reporting directly to ownership, you will oversee an agile, capable team of two skilled trades technicians and the production engineer. You will be responsible for balancing completion dates, cost, and quality for all construction and improvement related projects. A minority portion of time will be spent managing vehicle fleet, site security, and property maintenance, while the majority of time will be spent on planning and executing a combination of large and small-scale projects simultaneously. Above all, you will act as a trusted steward of company resources, embracing deep trust with ownership and setting a high standard of workmanship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


With the help of direct report team members, provide start-to-finish project management of minor and major upgrade projects (both facilities related, and manufacturing process related), with budgets greater than $1M annually.

Effectively communicate and translate vision into reality - Create an environment in which great ideas can happen and come to life Develop and empower team(s) focusing on change, continuous improvement and engagement Execute and lead your team with LEAN manufacturing best practices Proactively identify, improve, and implement new workflows and processes Ensure prioritized task management and productivity of direct reports by developing and implementing new work order structure Implement reliability centered maintenance program to achieve maximized equipment life and minimized unplanned downtime Increase internal skills and capabilities of maintenance team through training, tools, and processes Oversee and/or assist with groundskeeping and overall property maintenance Manage fleet maintenance of approximately 10 company vehicles

Qualifications

Engineering degree or similar technical background with significant project management experience Experience managing and directing teams of skilled trades workers and/or trades contractors Manufacturing environment and/or LEAN methodology experience
Qualifications considered a strong asset:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Formal leadership, management or professional development training (ADKAR, Prosci, or similar) LEAN and/or Six Sigma certifications and experience
