THE ROLE - DIRECTOR OF DISTRIBUTION - ST. JOHN'S
Specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited, to the following:
Provide leadership for effective distribution execution and engagement.
Senior Management level responsibility for on-time loading, delivery and in-market execution relating to all network wide product distribution.
Senior leadership responsibility for all internal delivery processes, delivery team members and delivery Common Carriers.
Overall responsibility for vehicle and delivery fleet including procurement and maintenance programs.
Development and implementation of processes to achieve goals relating achievement of on-time loading, delivery and in-market execution relating to system wide product deliveries.
Ensure third party (Independent) distributors drive marketplace execution.
Ensure all routes are dispatched and run as per-schedule on a daily basis.
Leadership responsibility for cost management, and profit and loss components relating to assigned internal as well as external functions.
Responsible to develop, implement and manage an effective key performance indications (KPI) process relating to all assigned functions.
Meet customer service needs by achieving our service level standards.
Improve Cost and Productivity.
Audit and coach third party (Independent) distributors on methods to achieve compliance with Browning Harvey Ltd. distribution standards.
Implement and effectively manage a progressive, inclusive coaching, monitoring, and team member development process on an on-going basis, while incorporating associated performance metrics relating to each team member role.
Establish and monitor route alignment for optimal customer service, cost effectiveness and productivity.
Assist in the process of selecting and training a new third party (Independent) Distributor.
Travel within Province on a scheduled basis.
Other Duties as Assigned.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will possess:
Ten (10) years' experience in leading a distribution network.
University degree and/or specialized training in logistics management.
A dynamic, solutions-based individual who understands the imperative need for timely follow-up.
Highly developed analytical skills to assess issues and resolve.
Strong customer relationship skills.
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
A bigger picture thinker who possesses the ability to see the granular opportunities and simultaneously develop processes, and solutions that reflect as well as meet the needs with a view to the broader business, understanding with clarity the associated impacts and outcomes.
An individual who is equally skilled and comfortable, agile and effectiveness in sustainably addressing concerns, compliance challenges, opportunities that exist in the day to day of the business, and engaging with customers, our broader employee, delivery, and senior team members.
A fast-paced, energetic individual who possesses a positive, enthusiastic personality and a willingness to move nimbly and swiftly to address concerns, opportunities, gaps and challenges.
Ability to travel within the province on a flexible basis, to support team member, customer and Organizational needs.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide professional and courteous service in any scenario.
