The North Bay Community Echo Podcast Network is a dynamic and innovative podcast network dedicated to producing engaging and high-quality content for a local audience. We collaborate with talented hosts to create compelling stories that inform, entertain, and inspire. We are currently seeking a strategic and creative Director of Content & Client Strategy to lead our client relationships, oversee content development, and ensure seamless production workflows.
Position Summary:
The Director of Content & Client Strategy will be responsible for managing client accounts, developing podcast shows, overseeing content quality, booking show guests and supporting host development. This role will provide creative direction to hosts and producers while ensuring the timely delivery of episodes and related social media content. The ideal candidate is an organized and strategic thinker with strong leadership, project management, and creative skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Client and Account Management:
Lead in the selling of the network's advertising opportunities.
Facilitate all client-facing communication, from detailing & creating monthly podcast reports to invoicing clients for advertising services.
Serve as the primary point of contact for podcast clients, managing relationships and ensuring their goals are met.
Foster strong relationships with podcast hosts, producers, and external partners to ensure smooth production processes.
Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to grow the network's reach and impact.
Podcast Content Development:
Lead the development of new podcast shows, ensuring they align with the network's brand and audience engagement goals.
Provide creative direction and feedback to hosts, producers, and writers to enhance the quality of content.
Provide media preparation materials to both guests and hosts.
Oversee the timely delivery of episodes, ensuring consistency and alignment with the content calendar.
Lead and assist podcast hosts in identifying, researching, and booking guests, utilizing an outlined guest communication process.
Content Strategy & Distribution:
Manage the content calendar and oversee the production pipeline to ensure the timely delivery of episodes and related promotional content.
Produce a digital newsletter weekly, featuring podcast episodes and relevant industry insights.
Assist in creating static posts, shorts, and clips by providing direction on relevant timestamps based on episode themes.
Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and supports the overall brand narrative.
Identify opportunities for content expansion, including spin-offs, merchandise, and cross-platform distribution.
Production and Project Management:
Utilize project management software and internally developed tools to organize and effectively communicate project goals to team members.
Lead weekly production meetings to outline and prioritize active projects in the pipeline.
Oversee and manage the budget for the podcast network, providing monthly budget reports.
Manage intellectual property rights, ensuring content is protected and monetized effectively.
Manage relationships with local stakeholder organizations and institutions, including managing potential student placements
Qualifications & Skills:
This would be great: 5+ years of experience in content strategy, podcast production, or a related field.
So would this: A bachelor's degree specializing in marketing, communications, journalism, or English
You're gonna need this: Strong background in account management, client relations, or business development within the media or podcasting industry.
Do you have this: Proven ability to provide creative direction and constructive feedback to content creators.
Ask our expectations on this one: Excellent project management skills, with experience using tools like Trello, Asana, or similar platforms.
Better know this: Experience with social media monitoring tools, like Hootsuite, Metricool, Buffer or similar platforms.

Obvious: Strong understanding of podcasting trends & analytics, audience engagement strategies, and monetization opportunities.

Gotta have: Knowledge of digital marketing, social media strategies, media monitoring and content promotion techniques.
Gotta be an app for this: Budget management experience with the ability to create reports and track financial performance.
We'll know this before you start: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
