DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY LIVING SUPPORTS



Brampton Caledon Community Living (BCCL), a recognized leader in the developmental services, is seeking a Director with leadership experience in a community living or social service environment and a track record of delivering high quality, person-centered services and supports to individual with an intellectual disability and their families.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, The Director of Community Living supports will share responsibility with a co-director to manage a portfolio that includes a budget of $23M, 36 homes, 14 managers, and over 200 support staff. The Director of Community Living Supports will provide continuous direction and guidance to the residential management team and set achievable goals in line with BCCL's Vision, mission, and strategic goals.

The Director of Community Living Supports will be an integral part of the senior management team, working closely with the Executive Director and the board of directors for the successful delivery of a comprehensive range of services and supports aligned with BCCL's core principles and values.

Responsibilities

:As part of the senior management team, uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization within the workplace. Demonstrate a respectful and professional attitude towards staff, volunteers, families, and partners. Direct a team of community living support managers and promote safe, healthy, and enhancing living environments for the people we support. Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to managers and serve as a role model. Oversee location budgets; track and be accountable for expenditures. Ensure relevant legislative requirements and regulations are implemented and maintained. Serve as a liaison to families, members of the public, community groups and other services. Act as a representative of BCCL within the community; participating, where necessary in public speaking events and as a participant of joint initiatives with other organizations Ensure the support provided to people is respectful of their dignity, rights, and emotional and physical well-being. Promote people's inclusion and participation in the community through the establishment of relationships, and development of social, recreational, leisure, cultural, educational, and community-based activities. Ensure individual personal outcomes and support plans have been identified and established for each person in accordance with their personal preferences and the concepts of Social Role Valorization and Personal Outcomes Measures. Hire staff in conjunction with Human Resources. Ensure that all administrative duties are completed when required. Attend all required trainings and meetings. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:





A minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience in the developmental sector. An undergraduate or post graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited university or equivalent. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people with an intellectual disability and their families, community groups, organizational representatives, board directors, and other stakeholders. An ability to relate to people with an intellectual disability and a deep commitment to the values of inclusion and community living. Demonstrated understanding of Social Role Valorization and Personal Outcome Measures. A commitment and understanding of quality enhancement. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; sound decision-making skills; excellent organizational skills. Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Proficiency with MS Office Applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. An up-to-date, Clear Police Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check. A class G Ontario driver's license, the maintenance of acceptable driving record, current car insurance and a safe and reliable car. Fluency in French an asset.
