As the Director of Care, you are responsible for the coordination and implementation of resident care, based upon pre-established standards, to promote a high quality of life for each resident.
Requirements:
? Current registration as Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing.
? Current CPR and First Aid.
? Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or retirement care.
? Experience with Dementia/Alzheimer's is an asset.
? Knowledge of the nursing process.
? Skills in planning, coordinating and supervising a comprehensive nursing care program.
? Valid drivers license.
? Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
? Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education and participate in mandatory educational in-services.
? Computer literate.
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
? Directing, coordinating, and supervising the overall nursing department.
? Responsible for the assessment, admission and discharge of all residents.
? Meeting with residents and their families to develop and or review care plans and resolve any problems/concerns/complaints that may arise.
? Recruiting and hiring and onboarding, qualified nursing personnel.
? Completing required monthly reports for both the General Manager and Senior Management.
? Responsible for control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and supervising the drug administration program, including the administration of medication by all staff.
? Performing other duties, as required.
