How will you fit in the big picture? The Marketing Director is the general manager for their business including top and bottom-line financial performance and delivery of share goals. They lead and coach their team and are responsible for translating the general strategic direction from senior management into a set of long-term and short-term concrete strategies and plans for their business. The Director, Chocolate & Seasons will champion the consumer and shopper in all that they do and continually strive to ensure a keen understanding of the consumers\xe2\x80\x99 needs, desires, habits, attitudes and practices as it relates to their seasons and the Hershey portfolio of brands. Importantly they will focus on turning those insights into actionable strategies and tactics that will drive results. The Marketing Director must also have a keen view of the external environment, including customer strategies, competition and general trends impacting the business including impact of the changing Canadian demographic landscape.
Strategy and Planning: Create strategy to grow and optimize brand or brands; Develop annual brand plans for line extensions, promotions, packaging changes and advertising spend; Develop financial projections, including financial analysis of brand profitability and product line profitability This position requires a dynamic, high energy and resilient creative thinker to drive growth for multiple brands, across multiple years.
People Management: Create professional development plans for brand managers and associate brand managers; Provide step-up opportunities to develop members of team and their capabilities; Ensure clarity of responsibility and facilitate accountability for manager activities, including brand growth, line extensions, advertising and promotions
What will you do?

  • Coach and develop a team of marketers to develop strategies, prioritize key initiatives and execute programs with excellence.
  • Leverage consumer landscape, shopper segment and trip mission insights for both Seasons and Everyday components of the business to build superior category growth strategies and targeted shopper programs.
  • Develop strong partnership with sales team to identify and develop consumer focused opportunities that meet customer strategies and business growth expectations
  • Collaborate with key cross functional stakeholders such as finance, supply chain and US portfolio leads to strengthen plans and execution
  • Drive thought leadership, clarity of business priorities and connection to the bigger picture across team
  • Own day to day management of team priorities and ad hoc requests
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 10+ years of previous experience in consumer-packaged goods marketing
  • MBA or B.Comm with Marketing major preferred
  • Building strong consumer franchises through all aspects of marketing mix in a disciplined marketing environment is mandatory
  • Solid foundation of innovation development and stage-gate process
  • Strong presentation skills, communication and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, budget management and contingency planning
  • Proven ability to navigate complex situations, varying stakeholders & business objectives
  • Experience in people management & coaching a high performing team with the ability to interact with cross functional departments
  • Expert in project management and ability to deliver in a fast-paced/evolving working environment
  • Proven strategy development and ability to distill multiple sources of information into clear action
  • Experience within digital marketing, omni-shopper or sales is beneficial
