We are currently seeking a Director, Marketing and Technology to join our Marketing team.

Reporting to the Chief Markets Officer, the Director, Marketing and Technology is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and initiatives to support business development.

Leading a team of marketing and technology professionals, the Director directs and leads the development and execution of the content strategy and creates the framework, multiplatform distribution strategies and partnerships that help promote the firm and its services, as well as the metrics associated with the initiatives.

As part of the senior Markets team, this position has extensive interaction with lawyers, senior management and external suppliers, while serving as the main point of contact for all marketing initiatives.

The Director works closely with business development colleagues, all corporate departments and provides professional support to individual and collective marketing initiatives including the firm\xe2\x80\x99s branding, the website, CRM and event management.

Key Responsibilities:

Branding, Marketing Content and Website

  • Manages the brand direction on a national level to develop campaigns that support initiatives of specialty and industry groups;
  • Develop strategies, plans and measurement tools for marketing activities;
  • Directs Digital Marketing, Marketing Technology & Analytics team to optimize multichannel online traffic and analyze KPIs established for the website and digital marketing campaigns;
  • Manages the brand direction on a national level to develop campaigns that support initiatives of specialty and industry groups;
  • Manages content strategy and initiatives, based on practice/specialty/industry goals;
  • Responsible for developing the overall website strategy;
  • Supervises the Sr. Manager, Marketing Technology and other team members to ensure that the website is always at the forefront;
  • Ensures high-level functionality of the website enriched with relevant content with the ultimate goal of achieving a superior user experience;
  • Working in collaboration with Business development team, is responsible for increasing visibility of the firm in legal directories such as Best Lawyers, Chambers, Benchmark and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory;
  • Keeps abreast of emerging marketing trends and practices;
  • Effectively manages relations with external consultants (agencies).
Client Relationship Management
  • Responsible for overall CRM Strategy to support lead generation;
  • Supervises the National Manager and the analytics team responsible for data integrity used for key business planning and decision-making.
Firm events
  • Manages the national Events team and promotes close collaboration between business development team to ensure effective coordination and resourcing to stage successful events;
  • Contributes to the establishment of important partnerships with various stakeholders in the industry.
Analytics and Reporting
  • Responsible for team producing metrics-driven analyses to measure effectiveness of overarching content;
  • Provides strategic advice on how to leverage various technology platforms and software to support the BD function.
Leadership
  • Manages a team of approximately 10 people located across the country;
  • Ensures consistency and harmonization of practices and processes between regions.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or university degree with major in Business, Marketing or a related field required;
  • 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience with at least 5 years experience in a manager role, preferably within a professional services environment;
  • Solid understanding of key branding, marketing concepts, design, and effective content creation;
  • In-depth understanding of analytics and business intelligence platforms and tools (metrics, KPIs, ROI);
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Takes a strategic approach to work, while able to tactically execute projects;
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively to ensure deadlines and the firm\xe2\x80\x99s brand standards are met;
  • Highly professional, diplomatic, and approachable to deliver high quality of customer service to client groups;
  • Advanced knowledge of technology and how it can be leveraged to support the team\xe2\x80\x99s objectives;
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with senior management, lawyers, colleagues and team members;
  • Excellent at prioritizing and working under time pressure;
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, editing and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and with people from diverse backgrounds with competing needs;
  • French oral and written skills are an asset.
