Job Description


Summary:Provide business leadership to the Canadian business unit for achieving sales, profit and development goals. Develops and leads the Business Unit\'s strategic plan aligning with the global vision and business strategy. Leads the Canadian leadership team in coordinating with regional staff, , Franchisees, Vendors and Business Developers in areas of operations, marketing, R&D, development and supply chain to implement strategies and initiatives. Oversee Canadian head office including the supervision of key functions and the management of staffing.

Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the country team. Ensures country cross-functional team is building a strong foundation for the brand to increase brand awareness, sales, profits and smart development growth. Manage issue resolution in conjunction with the Canadian leadership team and business unit teams. Provide effective problem solving leaderships and recommendations to overcome Canadian specific challenges for the business. Supervises and develops the country team and talent to achieve full potential. Able to deliver game changing strategies, motivation and active leadership for Canada.
Coaching and Management: Provides coaching, guidance and direction to the Canadian Leadership Team and North American support teams. Work with the head of Field Service Canada to effectively build sales and franchisee profitability, while ensuring that store are operating in full compliance across Corporate and Business Developer managed markets. Help the Canadian System to maximize restaurant profitability by reducing start-up costs, improving franchisee financial literacy and monitoring controls. Work collaboratively with franchisees on improving the Guest experience to give our brand the competitive edge. Provides guidance on smart development planning, tools and techniques for Field Service to optimize profitable development growth in their markets. Analyze the performance of Canadian Markets, identify needs for additional training and develop strategies for continued improvement and effectiveness. Oversee market reviews to assess and score performance. Provide guidance in problem solving and in seeking resolutions for unresolved issues between Business Developers and franchisees .
Country Strategic Planning: Partner with key stakeholders to develop short and long term integrated strategic plans for the market. Provides vision and guidance on implementation of strategies, initiatives and projects supporting the Global Strategic Plan, as well as Canadian specific strategies. Reviews Canadian regional business plans and performance to ensure that each market is aligned with the strategies and is achieving the expected levels of performance. Achieve buy-in with senior global management team on Canadian specific strategies.
Innovation: Supports implementations of global efforts that shape the future of the brand through strategic innovation pipeline product, packaging, promotion, equipment, business models and practices. Works with supply chain (IPC, R&D, etc.) and marketing to drive localized innovation. Drive Canadian team to deliver results-oriented business innovation.
Communication: Ensures communication across cross functional teams, country stakeholders as well as key regional and HQ teams, including but not limited to Marketing, Operations, Development R&D, Legal, PR.. Delivers strategy and explains strategic approach to board and all other stake holders to ensure buy-in and collaboration. Motivates and leads the Canadian system in a one team approach to the business, building trust, collaboration and the highest levels of execution and guest experience.

Skills and Abilities Required

Self-starter who enjoys working at a fast paced with demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership skills, track record of driving strong business results. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills required. Experience leading integrated teams and strategic planning required.

Must be able to obtain any required visas for business trips to the USA as well as to any countries within the Global business.

A Sucessful Candidate will have:

University degree in business required or related field like Business Strategy, Management
English fluency is a must, French and other language skills a plus
10-15 years of management experience; preferred food service industry
