Our client, Novacap, is a North American leader in private equity, with over CAD 15 billion in assets under management. Novacap has invested in more than 100 companies and completed over 150 add-on acquisitions. Founded in 1981, Novacap specializes in company buyouts and has a proven track record of driving growth and creating long-term value creation for its portfolio companies.
To meet its growing needs, Novacap is creating a new position within its Legal team.
On a day-to-day basis, you will oversee the strategic and operational legal aspects of Novacap's mergers and acquisitions, as well as those of its portfolio companies. You will work closely with the investment teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and the successful execution of transactions. You will supervise and manage the legal aspects of M&A projects, participate in the governance of portfolio companies, and coordinate the work of external counsel. You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating legal risks, protecting the interests of the firm and its investors, and contributing to the development and mentorship of team members.

If you are a member of a Canadian provincial bar, bilingual, and have at least eight years of experience in transactional law, including experience at a major law firm, we want to hear from you.
