As
Director, Investment Management
, you'll play a key role in driving fund performance, managing capital, and advancing new investment initiatives across both debt and equity. Working closely with the SVP, you'll help shape fund strategy, oversee credit risk, and contribute to the design of new investment vehicles.

This is a dynamic opportunity for an entrepreneurial investment professional with deep credit and underwriting expertise in commercial real estate, a strategic mindset, and strong financial acumen.
This role will evolve as the Investment Management function continues to grow; the successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment where responsibilities expand and adapt alongside the needs of the business.
Key Accountabilities
Portfolio & Investment Management
Assist in treasury management across CSMC's funds, optimizing capital deployment and liquidity.
Conduct portfolio analysis, performance tracking, and risk rating for CSMC's total portfolio.
Support ongoing fund reporting, investor communications, and compliance with investment policies.
Accelerated Lending Program
Lead outreach to broker and borrower networks to identify qualified lending opportunities.
Evaluate commercial real estate loan opportunities, providing recommendations to the Fund Investment Committees.
+ Review loan summaries, credit memos, and commitment letters. Enhance policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks to strengthen credit governance.
Monitor deal performance and returns.
Investment Strategy & Special Projects
Collaborate with the SVP and Capital Markets team to structure and launch new investment vehicles, which may include:
+ Senior Debt Fund
+ Self-Storage Fund
+ Equity Fund(s)
+ Apartment REIT Work with legal counsel to structure and negotiate fund terms and investor agreements.
Support the setup of new entities, fund operations, and reporting infrastructure.
Key Skills & Competencies
Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or related field; MBA or CFA an asset.
7+ years' experience in the commercial real estate industry. Prior investment fund experience is an asset.
Strong foundation in credit underwriting, financial analysis, and commercial real estate lending.
Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across diverse workstreams.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; able to distill complex financial data into clear insights and presentations.
Experience with CRM and reporting tools (e.g., Salesforce) to track deal flow and performance.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; confident engaging with investors, partners, and senior leadership.
Strong ownership mindset and accountability for credit adjudication and fund performance.
