Job Title Director, GRM Quality Assurance, BFS



What is the Opportunity?

As Director, GRM Quality Assurance (BFS), you will manage the team (5 Senior Managers, Quality Assurance) that conducts Quality Assurance post loan reviews for BFS, in support of GRM\'s 2nd line of defence oversight framework. The Director will oversee the group\xe2\x80\x99s methodologies in sampling, reviews, reporting and stakeholder management.

The Director will conduct reviews which will involve, assessment of the quality of financial analysis to support risk ratings, data integrity, and adherence to RBC\xe2\x80\x99s credit policies and procedures, amongst others. Segment coverage includes Commercial Credit, Small Business and Real Estate.

What will you do?

  • Provide counsel to Business Unit partners. Ensuring risks inherent in new or amended products, processes, initiatives, strategies and systems are efficiently and accurately identified, assessed, mitigated and monitored, while maintaining and/or optimizing the risk reward balance.
  • Provide a strong Second Line of Defense by promoting sound risk management practices and providing risk guidance.
  • Execute upon Group Risk Management\'s risk frameworks and contribute to the ongoing development and updating of policy guidance.
  • Engage stakeholders/partners using QA insight/reporting to identify areas to enhance the credit policies and processes.
  • Seen as a \xe2\x80\x9ctrusted and respected partner\xe2\x80\x9d by key stakeholders in GRM, the business and other supporting functions.
  • Add value through expertise and a solution mindset with win/win outcomes.
  • Prioritize work flow and resources based upon business imperatives and changing requirements.
  • Represent GRM in cross-functional teams, meetings, etc.; foster strong working relationships with all partners.
Must Have:
  • Strong credit acumen and previous lending/adjudication experience in Commercial markets.
  • Expert knowledge of Commercial lending and non-lending products including risk assessment disciplines, policies, procedures and industry issues.
  • Strong impact and influence skills
  • Proven track record of building productive relationships with business and functional partners.
  • Consistently demonstrates intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness; proven decision making ability, able to deal with ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work effectively and manage competing demands.
Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience in product development and credit process initiatives.
