We're looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in healthcare - either through a clinical background or a degree in health or business administration - paired with at least five years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
The Director is responsible for the delivery of high-quality, accessible, and sustainable client-and-family-centered care across home and community care, palliative care, continuing care homes, palliative care and geriatric services. In collaboration with medical leadership and integrated health teams, the Director oversees home and community care and facility-based continuing care in Grande Prairie and surrounding rural communities. Key responsibilities include developing site-specific plans, deploying resources effectively, fostering continuous improvement, and building strong partnerships with North Zone sites and provincial programs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Director develops and evaluates strategies aligned with Assisted Living Alberta's mission and client needs, while collaborating with other Directors, Care Managers, Program and Service Leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated, effective service delivery. The Director reports to the Zone Leader, North, Clinical Delivery and Operations.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate Degree in a healthcare profession; Healthcare Management or Business Administration degree with appropriate healthcare experience may be considered; 5 or more years of experience in a management role in clinical services or healthcare operations in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity; Proven leadership experience in Seniors Health; Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Effective communicator with strong organizational skills and a customer-focused approach, committed to delivering high-quality services. Proven leadership capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to make informed decisions, coach and inspire teams, and build confidence in others. Experienced in managing change and developing innovative solutions to complex and diverse challenges. Skilled in resource management within complex environments, with a strong ability to foster collaboration among stakeholders, caregivers, senior leadership, and external partners. Recognized for strategic planning, policy development, and leading multifaceted projects and programs. Adept at aligning initiatives with long-term organizational goals through strategic thinking, evaluating options, and anticipating outcomes to drive sustainable success.

Preferred Qualifications:

Related Master's Degree in a health discipline; Registration with an Alberta Regulated Health Profession; Experience managing within a unionized sector; Experience in direct clinical work; Clinical contract management experience.
