CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Investment Banking group of professionals are dedicated specifically to advising clients on mergers and acquisitions as well as equity and debt capital raising activities. There is an extensive amount of interaction with other groups within the firm in order to provide clients with customized financing and advisory solutions.The role of a Director within CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Global Diversified Industries Investment Banking group is challenging and fast-paced. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.How You\xe2\x80\x99ll SucceedClient proposals - Assist in developing proposals to clients and potential clients for equity and debt placements, mergers, asset or company divestitures or acquisitions, and other financial products and advisory servicesResearch - Conduct industry research and analysis to assist in the identification and/or analysis of investment banking business opportunitiesFinancial modeling - Develop and audit complex financial models and prepare industry and financial analysis to determine client recommendationsDue Diligence - Assist in company due diligence investigations and lead industry comparable value and transaction precedent analysesOffering and prospectus - Prepare offering memoranda and marketing materials and assist with prospectus draftingCoaching - Mentor, train and direct junior professionals and participate in cross-functional teams and liaising with other units of CIBC Capital Markets in executing mandates or preparing proposals for clientsWho You AreYou have attained an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics. Completion of and/or intention to complete a CPA, CFA, LL.B or J.D. would also be beneficial.You possess 5-6 years of industry experience in (one or more of) investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or deal advisory. Experience with meaningful financial modeling and analysis is required. Working knowledge of the consumer, industrial or telecommunication industries is an asset but not a requirement.You have advanced financial skills. Excellent analytical ability including demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques and practices, including cash flow and returns analyses. Knowledge of accounting principles relating to financial statement preparation and business combinations.You are goal oriented. Dedicated and motivated individual with ambitious career aspirations. Must be capable of assuming high levels of responsibility. Success to you is helping to develop solutions for and execute the complex financial and strategic needs of our clients.You are technically savvy (Programs, Methodologies, Systems). Strong quantitative technical skills as it relates to basic computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), industry technology (FactSet, Bloomberg) and other applicable software.You\'re motivated by collective success. Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to develop and manage relationships with clients, including both internal and external business partners. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to complex technical and conceptual issues.
