As the Director, Global Brand Communications, you lead our external communications strategy. You oversee a critical portfolio and manage a team driving PR and media strategy across apparel and equipment, ReBIRD, commercial, Advanced Concepts and innovation, owned channel storytelling inclusive of film, athlete and more. You are constantly thinking about how to tell stories that connect and inspire, that bring new people into the brand, that broaden the appeal of Arc'teryx without diminishing the core authenticity of the product and the people. This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Global Communications team sets the global enterprise communications strategy. Working cross-functionally and in deep partnership with our athletes, design team, Advanced Concepts, merchandising, and our regions, our aspiration is to tell authentic, creative, innovative stories that resonate and connect. Our iconic product and pinnacle design is at the center of every story we tell.
You will be responsible for bringing global storytelling to life that connects and inspires; you'll manage branded content, earned editorial, crisis and corporate communications, product storytelling, innovation, impact, athlete and beyond. We have a lot of fun work to do and we enjoy doing it together, and in support of one another. The thing we care about most is HOW you do the work - collaboratively, with positive intent, and having fun while doing it together.

If you were in the Director, Global Brand Communications - Temporary role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
+ Using your voice as a leader on brand, communications and across the company to drive valuable change, strategic insight, and thought-leadership
+ Creating space for other voices who do not have a seat at the table
+ Leading global storytelling strategy, providing global communications strategies for regional execution and media management
+ Leading regional meetings across North America, EMEA, APAC, and China finding ways to grow our global storytelling engine
+ Growing the team into the position of global storytelling leads, working with the team leader to transition team-members into regional roles as applicable, co-creating the strategy and then shepherding the process
+ Leading global coverage reports quarterly for QBR shares, attending QBR and annual leadership meetings - and, identifying consistent ways to continue to share the Brand Communications team's work across the company
+ Developing and executing global media strategy and execution for brand campaigns
+ Working with key internal stakeholders to ensure PR efforts for projects and programs are strategically aligned
+ Supporting employee communications strategy and execution
+ Ensuring consistent implementation of existing communications documents that governs high-visibility communication channels (i.e., website, leadership bios, speaker presentations, company FAQ, media kit, boilerplate etc.), and implementing approved language
+ Leading media training and corporate spokesperson readiness, inclusive of evergreen messaging
+ Overseeing the global PR budget
+ Supporting in developing and implementing a comprehensive brand communications calendar that is aligned with all global marketing initiatives
+ Managing building, coaching, and guiding a high performing team to deliver on Brand Communications strategies

+ You have a bachelor's degree in communications or marketing with a minimum of 10 years in a communications role with experience in a fast paced, results-driven working environment

$149,000 - $205,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$149,000 - CAD$205,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
