SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Director, Gas Supply & Marketing directs and manages the gas supply markets for the corporation and is accountable for the economical and reliable gas supply to customers. This position is responsible for ensuring sufficient flexibility is achieved by SaskEnergy to take advantage of changing market conditions while managing risk and upholding standards for reliability, quality and cost.
Position DetailsNon-union. This position is permanent full time.
Key AccountabilitiesDirect and lead the development of long term and annual plans for Gas Supply and Marketing and ensure that the plans align with the Corporate Strategic Plan.
Direct and provide leadership for the gas marketing efforts to capture value of existing assets and generate additional revenues for the Corporation.
Lead SaskEnergy's commodity competition service to ensure sufficient and fair access for third party natural gas retailers to operate within the Saskatchewan market while managing the risk for SaskEnergy.
Develop recommendations for annual Gas Marketing business plans and present to the SaskEnergy Executive and Board of Directors.
Provide gas supply leadership to, and collaborate with, a team of corporate specialists to optimize revenues for the Corporation, leveraging natural gas industry knowledge and physical storage and transmission assets.
Maintain an awareness of existing and proposed legislation and provide advice and recommendations regarding the impact on corporate operations.
Determine roles and responsibilities and provide workgroup planning and communication sessions, ensuring a link between strategic plans and employee roles and contributions.
Manage and provide leadership to the Gas Supply workgroup to ensure compliance with standards, policies and legislative/regulatory requirements.
Monitor performance outcomes and team effectiveness, with a strong focus on accountability to ensure goals and objectives translate to the desired outcomes.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesDegree in Business Administration, Commerce or Engineering.
Nine (9) years of direct experience in the natural gas industry negotiating contracts and participating in the physical and financial aspects of the industry.
Ability to effectively communicate strategic advisement and influence decision-making at the most senior level.
Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork.
Experience in assigning accountability for monitoring results and making necessary adjustments.
Results oriented and strategic thinker with the ability to negotiate and manage complex and confidential issues with extreme sensitivity and professionalism.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional InformationTravel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required.
A Class 5 Driver's License is required.
