Our work is driven by volunteers, donors, and community partners, and we are seeking a passionate individual to join our team in a dynamic role that blends communications, fundraising, event coordination, grant writing, and volunteer management.

Overview



The Director of Fundraising will lead the strategic development and execution of fundraising initiatives to support the mission and goals of Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver. Reporting to the CEO, this role will focus on securing financial resources through donor engagement, grant acquisition, corporate partnerships, and community campaigns to ensure the sustainability and growth of affordable housing programs. This is currently a stand-alone hands-on position with the potential to expand and create a fundraising team in the future.

Key Responsibilities



1. Fundraising Strategy and Implementation

- Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.

- Identify diverse funding opportunities, including individual donors, corporate sponsorships, government grants, and foundations.

- Lead major fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, capital campaigns, and planned giving programs.

2. Donor Engagement and Stewardship

- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, funders, and stakeholders to foster long-term support.

- Oversee donor recognition programs to ensure timely acknowledgment and reporting on the impact of contributions.

3. Grant Writing and Management

- Research, prepare, and submit grant proposals to secure funding from governmental and private entities.

- Manage post-award grant activities, including compliance with reporting requirements.

4. Event Planning and Campaigns

- Plan and execute fundraising events that engage the community and raise awareness about affordable housing needs in British Columbia.

- Collaborate with sales/marketing teams to create promotional materials for campaigns and events.

5. Leadership and Collaboration

- This is currently a stand-alone position with the potential to expand and recruit for a team in the future.

- Work closely with the CEO, Leadership team, Board of Directors to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.

6. Data Management and Reporting

- Oversee donor management systems to track contributions, analyze trends, and generate reports on fundraising performance.

- Provide regular updates to leadership on progress toward financial targets.

Qualifications



Education & Experience



- Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in fundraising or development roles within non-profits; experience in housing or social services is an asset.

Skills & Competencies



Proven success in securing major gifts and managing donor portfolios.

Strong knowledge of grant writing processes and compliance requirements.

Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building with donors, partners, and stakeholders.

Proficiency in donor management software (e.g. Keela, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce or similar systems) is highly desirable.

Ability to lead and collaborate with teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with grant writing and proposal development.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Passion for Habitat for Humanity's mission and values.

CFRE designation preferred/ desirable.

Working Conditions:



Hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office and remote work. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events and donor meetings. Local travel to meet donors and partners.

Compensation:



Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
Base salary: $85,000 to $105,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
