Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Fraud and Loss Prevention will be responsible for the development, implementation and improvement of programs, policies and procedures aimed at minimizing the loss of merchandise and company assets across all touch points including all operations facilities, ecommerce, retail stores and offices and back office operations. The role will be responsible for leading the internal and external Loss Prevention, Fraud Prevention and Security teams & Initiatives at SSENSE focused on protecting its people, money, equipment, and merchandise. The role requires the ability to work strategically and operationally across the diverse working environment of the business. The candidate will foster a positive work environment that embraces SSENSE brand values and achieves both company and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Implementation - 25%

  • Develop and implement an end to end Asset Protection Strategy to ensure safeguarding of company assets
  • Define and manage Asset Protection Budgets, prioritize and optimize expenses, find and implement innovative solutions that will support the operations while minimizing business risk, improving security, reducing shrink and driving awareness
  • Develop and implement a strategy to manage, monitor and minimize online fraud while maximizing revenue
  • Review end-to-end supply chain processes; identify and flag risks and gaps across People, Process, Technology and Infrastructure streams; partner with respective teams to address these risks
  • Lead cross-divisional initiatives, projects, and committees aimed at protecting company assets
  • Lead the Asset Protection data intelligence efforts in partnership with the IT, Data, and Analytics departments to drive predictive and proactive Asset Protection strategies for execution
  • Partner with best-in-class companies to minimize credit card fraud and work with internal data science resources to develop proprietary risk management models and tools
Process Improvement, Operations, & Change Management - 25%
  • Actively create, manage, track, and report on Asset Protection KPIs, documenting policies and best practices
  • Define and lead the development of policies and procedures to continuously improve inventory accuracy and cash handling accuracy, reducing company asset losses, including credit card fraud while delivering the highest standard of customer and employee experience
  • Ensure the timely and proper change management on key asset protection policies and practices to ensure tier communication and adoption with respective stakeholders
  • Contribute to all inventory cycle count audits by partnering with the finance and operations teams and promoting operational compliance by identifying relevant data trends
  • Lead and establish Investigation processes, policies and documentation as well as lead internal & external investigations
  • Work closely with Customer Experience, Warehouse, Human Resources, Finance, Retail, Legal and Facilities management to ensure that all aspects of Asset Protection are in compliance with company standards and all applicable regulations, codes and laws
  • Drive the creation and implementation of the Emergency Response Protocol
Security & Equipment - 25%
  • Build, implement and manage Perimeter Security and Access Control strategy, including but not limited to, security onboarding, biometric enrollment, and user creations for employees and external visitors and contractors
  • Manage and ensure readiness of all physical security installations (CCTV and other surveillance installations) as well as all access control and alarm systems
  • Define guarding strategy and negotiate and manage guarding contracts for all sites
  • Partner with the Facilities team to ensure compliance with Asset Protection guidelines for scope of new projects and changes to the physical infrastructure
  • Responsible for onsite crisis management and emergencies including representation to the authorities
  • Oversee protective services for executive team if applicable
People Management - 25%
  • Define the organizational structure and build the organizational capabilities to support defined asset protection strategies
  • Promote a customer focused Asset Protection culture through training and education, best practices, performance review and analyze individual KPIs as well as coach others as the need arises
  • Lead external teams and consultants including security, guarding and other external service providers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree or college diploma in a relevant field
  • 10+ years of asset protection experience at large, high velocity retail organization(s); experience across ecommerce and credit card fraud, physical retail, distribution center, corporate security
  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment (CCTV (Milestone), Access control (GX), alarm, access control lock, key, etc.)
  • Previous knowledge of implementing and upholding security policies and procedures
  • Experience working in an ecommerce and fulfillment center environment
  • Demonstrated experience conducting investigations with Kinesic interview techniques or other interviewing/interrogation certification
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of the Google Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
  • Valid driver\'s license and car
  • Minimum of 60% onsite at our Fulfillment Center and other SSENSE locations
  • Flexible schedule required, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as per business needs
  • Provincial guarding certificate an asset
  • First Aid / CPR certification an asset
