Summary of Qualifications and Job Duties
ABOUT THE FIRST NATIONS INITIATIVES AT YUKON UNIVERSITY The FNI Division is focused on enhancing education and engagement with Yukon First Nations and facilitating their participation and influence within the Yukon University community. The FNI Division has several key responsibilities including supporting the delivery and development of Yukon First Nations 101, developing leadership training for Yukon Frist Nations, providing a range of First Nations programming and services available to Yukon U\xe2\x80\x99s community. The division engages Yukon Fist Nations education coordinators and advisors through the President\xe2\x80\x99s Advisory Committee on First Nations Initiatives (PACFNI) to gain input, guidance and direction to serve both the educational needs and student experience of First Nations students. ABOUT YOU, THE DIRECTOR You are a skilled and experienced leader who is passionate about re-imagining education as a pathway for advancing reconciliation. You are committed to forming and transforming the necessary building blocks for sustaining ethical relations with Yukon First Nations in teaching, learning and research spaces. You embrace the challenge of working across multiple disciplines with diverse interests, needs, and ideas. You take special care to build trust with your teams, community partners and leadership at all levels. You are equally comfortable with listening, learning, and leading. Finally, you enjoy working in a demanding, yet rewarding, fast-paced environment where priorities can quickly shift. The Director will report to and support the AVP Reconciliation in implementing Yukon University\xe2\x80\x99s Reconciliation Framework and Reconciliation-Action Plan (in development).
