The Opportunity: We're looking for a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our Finance team.

Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis the Director Financial Planning & Analysis will provide strategic and financial insights, supporting shared services and business lines. This role will lead and manage the budget and forecast preparation, shared service model, internal reporting, business decision support initiatives and project management for FP&A projects. Strong business acumen, ability to influence and make sound recommendations as well as build and maintain solid relationships with stakeholders are key success factors in this role.

What your day looks like:
  • Leads budgeting processes and manage planning through close collaboration with lines of business to align with overall company objectives and KPIs
  • Drive continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plans and modeling tools
  • Analyze complex financial information to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Support the Vice-President, Financial Planning & Analysis in identifying and analyzing the impact of cross-functional financial decisions across the lines of businesses and support functions
  • Work with Accounting to ensure processes are set-up to facilitate the integrity and accessibility of data for analysis purposes
  • Lead Trade Cost Allocation process. Review monthly allocation metrics and analyze business drivers to ensure accuracy of trade cost
  • Create and implement the annual Shared Service Allocation Methodology which includes key business metrics for each department
  • Develop and maintain budget to actual reporting for shared services
  • Work with project groups to manage and monitor project time tracking for capitalization purposes
  • Provide project management on FP&A integration projections, with a focus on documentation of processes, controls, and procedures. Conduct post implementation reviews, to ensure all aspects are effectively integrated into operational processes
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required
  • Provide change management support for new or changed process to ensure the departmental standards for accuracy and professional work product are consistently achieved
  • Support the broader Finance team in aligning financial policies and procedures to achieve organizational objectives
Requirements

Your experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or other relevant field, Master's degree is an asset
  • Professional designation (CA, CGA CMA/CPA
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in financial roles, with at least 5 years of management experience
  • Significant experience in budgeting, reporting, planning, analysis and integrating financial systems. Sage Intacct and Workday experience an asset.
  • Experience working in complex organization, with a preference for experience in the financial services industry
  • Project management experience, including leading and managing delivery and documentation, specifically experience where there have been multi-department impacts
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Mastery skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of data mining techniques and principles
  • Familiarity with enterprise planning tools to facilitate budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous assignments
  • Proven ability to anticipate business needs and priorities, working with all levels of management and employees
  • Superior communication and presentation skills to persuade and influence peers and upper management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced performance-driven environment, dealing with ambiguity and change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize financial analysis results in a clear, concise, accurate manner
  • Desire to formulate and drive process improvements, with confidence to challenge the status quo
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
