Job Summary


We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented

Director, Finance

to lead financial operations in our manufacturing organization. This role reports to the COO, is First in Finance and will be a key member of Senior Leadership. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to drive operational performance, support growth initiatives, and contribute to capital planning efforts, influencing both the operational and strategic direction of the company. This role includes managing reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial analysis, with a strong focus on risk management, compliance, and financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:



Team Leadership & Development



Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to both long-term strategy and day-to-day operational decision-making. Provide visible, hands-on leadership that promotes financial stewardship, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team aligned with company values and growth objectives. Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture that supports cross-functional partnership and informed decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Cost Analysis



Provide strategic insights to support decision-making, long-term planning, and capital initiatives, including participation in fundraising or pitch committees with senior leadership. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Analyze financial results versus budget and forecast, providing actionable recommendations for operational and strategic improvements. Assess production and engineering costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Work with operations to optimize inventory management and allocate labor, materials, and factory overhead efficiently. Submit bank margin reports, grant reports, and GST filings. Prepare financial reporting packages and presentations for leadership.

Cash Flow Management



Develop cash flow strategies to support both operational requirements and strategic growth initiatives. Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely collections and payments. Report cash flow and financial KPIs to leadership, highlighting risk areas and opportunities. Advising on multi-currency sales price list and day-to-day management of FX trading and hedge strategies.

Budgeting & Forecasting



Lead the budgeting process, including setting financial targets, forecasting costs, and cash flow projections. Analyze budget vs. actual performance, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities for efficiency improvements. Support long-term financial planning and scenario modeling to enable strategic business decisions.

Internal Controls & Compliance



Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure data integrity, financial accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee risk management processes and ensure adherence to corporate policies, tax laws, and accounting standards. Collaborate with external accountants and auditors to facilitate annual reporting and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred. Minimum 7-8 years of experience in a financial management role, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost structures, inventory management, and operational financial reporting. Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills. Deep understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendations that support both operational and strategic decision-making. Demonstrated strategic thinking with experience contributing to long-term business planning and growth initiatives. Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to executives, operational teams, and external stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, excellent collaboration skills, and ability to work effectively across operational and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing, developing, and motivating high-performing finance teams. Experience with risk management, internal controls, and promoting financial stewardship within an organization.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $145,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
