We have an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to join our Stakeholder Experience, Marketing, and Communications team.

As the Director of Engagement, Marketing, and Channel Strategy, you\xe2\x80\x99ll provide leadership and direction to the Engagement, Marketing, and Channel Strategy teams to ensure effective planning, measurement, and implementation of awareness, engagement, and outreach plans across multiple channels. You\xe2\x80\x99ll lead our channel strategy, resource development, creative services, marketing, and engagement plans, ensuring they align with our brand, corporate vision, and business objectives. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work in close partnership with our leaders in Communications, Government and Media Relations, and Stakeholder and Community Relations to maintain that alignment.

As a member of the senior divisional management team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll consistently put our stakeholders and employees at the centre of your decisions and actions while you participate in divisional policy development, planning, and decision-making activities. You\xe2\x80\x99ll lead and engage an incredible team of people who support and partner with departments across WorkSafeBC to make a difference to the workers and employers of B.C.

Where you\xe2\x80\x99ll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office and other offices across B.C. as required.

What you\'ll do

As the Director of Engagement, Marketing, and Channel Strategy, you\xe2\x80\x99ll provide leadership in our engagement, marketing, and channel strategy areas by:

  • Working closely with other SEMC departments to ensure an understanding of the perceptions and needs of our diverse stakeholders and employees, as well as ensure alignment to our WorkSafeBC Experience framework.
  • Providing leadership and oversight to designing engagement strategies and inclusive channel strategies and resources that align with the organizational business plan and priorities and have clear success metrics.
  • Leading the overall brand strategy for the organization, in consultation with the Senior Director and Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and developing and implementing the Outreach and Marketing plans.
  • Collaborating with leaders in Innovation & Technology and People & Culture to ensure coordinated support for business objectives.
  • Communicating effectively with managers, other WorkSafeBC directors, and the ELT about evolving outreach and engagement in alignment with our strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrating our core behaviours and promoting the outcome feelings for employees and stakeholders, which include feeling supported, valued, confident, and empowered.
  • Promoting and supporting WorkSafeBC\xe2\x80\x99s brand to our employees and workers, employers, and providers in B.C.
  • Leading our team of marketers, creative services professionals, and digital and social channel advisors, in partnership with other departments, to further workplace health and safety in B.C.

  • Maintain current expert knowledge in the field of social marketing.
  • Manage market analysis, branding, public relations, advertising, and channel strategy.
  • Provide oversight to the development and evolution of brand and visual identity guidelines for the organization.
  • Provide guidance and advice to directors, managers, and the ELT on marketing and outreach to diverse stakeholders in B.C. including engagement and channel strategy.
  • Promote a client-focused, quality, service-oriented approach aligned with WorkSafeBC\'s Experience framework,
  • Collaborate with other WorkSafeBC directors and managers in planning and program development.
  • Manage financial resources within an allocated budget, plan the departmental budget, and monitor financial reporting.
  • Present clearly and effectively on department goals, outcomes, measurement, and efficacy.
  • Lead a team of people, focused on empowering, supporting, and valuing the contributions of each team member,
  • Maintain expertise in stakeholder engagement, marketing, and channel strategies through ongoing learning and networking.
Your experience and educational background:
  • A master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, marketing, or communications, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and expertise.
  • 10 years of senior management experience in the field of marketing or communications.
