The Director Digital Business Risk Management will play a crucial role in supporting the Digital Business by ensuring comprehensive risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring across all risk types for the business. In addition, you'll be responsible for ensuring robust risk governance and accountable for developing high-quality controls within the Digital Business, as well as supporting Digital Business Senior Leaders and Digital & Personal Distribution in understanding and escalating key risks. You will collaborate with partners and stakeholders first and second lines of defence. You will also play a role in the strategic thought leadership to support a robust risk environment, critically important to ensure continued business growth, enhanced client experience and trust in our RBC brand and reputation.
What will you do?
Act as a risk expert and provide support to the Digital teams with risk identification, assessment and mitigation for projects/ programs and initiatives.
Support Digital team and ensure the effective and timely completion of digital risk assessments including Risk Triage Assessments, Privacy Risk Assessments and Data Risk Assessments
Support the Digital Risk Management process, including conducting risk workshops and sessions for risk partners and Digital team members to ensure effective risk management practices.
Serve as the Digital Business Risk Manager providing risk review and oversight to ensure Operational Risk Management requirements are met, and high quality risk and control execution including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation.
Supports the development of the Digital Risk Scorecard and maintain the risk profile for Digital, including remediation of risk findings and issues.
Escalate significant risk issues and events to Senior Director to ensure effective resolution
Identify opportunities to streamline the risk assessment process, enabling accelerated delivery without compromising risk posture and governance requirements
Partners with First Line of Defence partners including LOB partners and PB&CB Operational Risk team as well as Second Line of Defence risk partners, including Group Risk Management, Fraud Management, Law Group, AML Compliance, Global Compliance & Privacy, Global Cyber Security, Canadian Banking Operations, etc.
Act as a main point of contact during Audit engagements
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
10+ years' experience in the financial services industry with respect to risk management and operational risk and/or the digital business.
Graduate degree in business or related discipline and/or MBA, CA, or other professional related qualification
Some understanding of AI technologies and risks
Proven business acumen and credibility
Strong influencing, collaboration, relationship building and communication skills
Strategic mindset, with significant knowledge and understanding of RBC businesses and organization
Proven change management capabilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, inquisitive nature and comfort challenging current practices
A commitment to streamlined and effective processes for maximum business efficiency while ensuring appropriate governance
Nice-to-have
Agile certification or training: solid working knowledge of banking operations and the financial services regulatory landscape
Knowledge in channel operations including Advice Centre, Branch and Physical Networks.
Experience in Risk Management, Operational Risk, Compliance or Audit
