Overview

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Director, Develop & Transactions - West to manage the real estate transaction process for a geographic territory in Western Canada including: network strategy, site searches, real estate acquisitions/leasing and dispositions (asset sales and subleasing).



What you\'ll get to do in this fast-paced role:

Independently manage the real estate transaction process for a geographic territory in Western Canada including: network strategy, site searches, real estate acquisitions/leasing and dispositions (asset sales and subleasing)

Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the real estate development process whether the site is owned or leased (such as municipal approvals: Development Permits, development of site plan) over the life of the project;

Manage the due diligence process for all real estate transactions, coordinating with required internal and external stakeholders to properly

Strong collaboration with Legal, Finance, Engineering and Construction Department;

\xc2\xb7 Lead all real estate contract negotiations, ensure national presidents are adhered to

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with landlords, developers, and government agencies as needed, including maintaining day to day relationships with Crombie and other third party developers regarding new and existing developments

\xc2\xb7 Manage lease renewal negotiations including rent and term extensions;

\xc2\xb7 Prepare business case presentations to support Senior Management Approval of major Capital Projects

\xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal skills, able to cultivate strong relationships with key internal stakeholders

\xc2\xb7 Able to manage multiple tasks, well organized with strict adherence to deadlines and deliverables

Job Requirements

What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:

\xc2\xb7 Undergraduate degree and at least eight (8) years of qualifying experience;

\xc2\xb7 Experience and negotiation skills;

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of buying, selling, leasing agreements and drafting documents and clauses;

\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of the retail market in Western Canada (Ideally knowledge of the food retail market);

\xc2\xb7 Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite;

\xc2\xb7 Good oral and written communication;

\xc2\xb7 Strong Financial Acumen
