WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU
Derivative Operations is a department within the Investment Services and Operations area at SLC Management that is responsible for the administration of all aspects of the derivative trade lifecycle post-execution for a wide range of derivative products. The Director, Derivative Operations Initiatives would be required to have a solid understanding of financial instruments, have considerable familiarity with derivatives terminology and possess strong analytical ability. This role will require that the candidate possess the ability to operate within a deadline driven environment and deliver exceptional client service. Strong interpersonal skills are required due to frequent interaction with all levels of Portfolio and Asset Management, IT and systems development, and various external vendors.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
Collaborate with the Derivative Operations, Accounting and Valuations teams to fully understand the processes and needs of the business
Responsible for providing assistance with oversight and testing of system upgrades to ensure no functionality is compromised
Seek opportunities to employ technology & automation across the team\xe2\x80\x99s processes/workflows to streamline operations and enhance controls
Provide operational assistance for strategic projects and initiatives, including but not limited to acquisitions, regulatory changes, new invest products and or system conversions/implementations
Assist in the onboarding and conversion of new clients/accounts as it relates to derivatives trading; liaison between internal/external counterparties and Operations for system set up and configuration
Lead the implementation of new business processes as it relates to collecting information, creating documentation and rollout to the team
Partner with Information Technology in the relationship management of key vendors as it relates to new product offerings/industry trends, issue resolution and meeting SLAs
Oversight of trade order management system to accounting system reconciliation of derivative positions/SMF, ensuring the two system are in sync
Oversight of reconciliations of derivative positions, ensuring the fund/client administrator is reporting complete matching derivative positions

Leadership Skills and Critical Thinking \xe2\x80\x93 Ability to assist with leading a team to meet the demands of a diverse constituent base and partners with other areas to resolve issues in an efficient and effective manner
Technical Skills - experience with pivot tables and VLOOKUP, Bloomberg, Black Rock Aladdin, Finastra Summit or similar systems/applications a plus
PREFERRED SKILLS
Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance/Mathematics
10 or more years of relevant experience in the Derivatives operations area of insurance or financial service industries
Enrollment or completion of CPA/CFA/FRM/MBA program preferred
Strong knowledge of BlackRock Aladdin, Finastra Summit or equivalent derivative\xe2\x80\x99s systems a plus
Ability to work independently and escalate matters when appropriate
