Director, Data Management

to join our team.



Position Summary:





Our

Director, Data Management

leads the strategic planning, governance, and operational execution of enterprise date policies, architecture, and integration. This role ensures data is secure, standardized, and optimized for analytics and operational use, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.


Job Responsibilities:




Defines and implements enterprise-wide data governance strategies to ensure consistent data standards and practices across the organization. Oversees the creation and maintenance of the enterprise data architecture, data catalogue, data dictionary, and metadata to support scalability of enterprise analytics, data-driven decision making, transparency and usability of data assets. Role includes working with the VP, Data & Analytics on setting policy/guidelines on data quality requirements for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Business Intelligence (BI) and analytic modelling. Establishes and monitors data quality metrics and trends to identify and resolve issues that impact operational and analytical effectiveness. Minimizing data quality issues and enhancing operational efficiency through AI and automation. Leads initiatives to classify and protect data, ensuring privacy and security standards are met, including recommendations on internal policies and practices to improve compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to remediate data quality issues, improving reliability of reporting and analytics. Other related or project duties may also be required.

Job Qualifications:




Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in data management, governance, or architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a team. Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data architecture principles, and privacy compliance standards. Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise data dictionaries, catalogues and/or metadata management systems. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives using AI and automation focused on data quality improvement and compliance. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes. Strong leadership capabilities, including strategic planning, team development, and performance management.
