The Role

As the Director, Data Engineering & Business Intelligence, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company\'s data strategy, architecture, and analytics capabilities. You will lead a team of data engineers and business intelligence analysts to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, databases, and reporting solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, accuracy, and accessibility of data for strategic business initiatives.

Who You Are

• Proven experience leading data engineering or business intelligence teams
• Track record of building and shipping large scale data systems
• Experience working with platforms like Databricks, Snowflake or Azure Fabric
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to be a translator between technology teams and the business
• Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, Spark
• Prior experience building customer facing data visualization using BI tools (e.g. PowerBI)
• Foster culture of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging experimentation and exploration of new data technologies and approaches
• Prior experience with ecommerce or logistics an asset
• Passionate and curious about data and technology
• Track record of recruiting and mentoring great teams

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do

• Define and communicate a compelling vision for creating value from data at Cymax Group Technologies
• Lead a talented team of data engineering and business intelligence developers in a data-driven company
• Build a robust data ecosystem integrating internal and external data systems using Azure Fabric and Databricks to power our AI, reporting tools and critical systems
• Identify and implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance our data capabilities, enabling us to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant products
• Attract and retain top data talent by creating a compelling employer brand, a positive candidate experience, and a strong focus on leadership development
• Lead data governance and MDM within the organization
• Lead architecture, design and implementation of our data integrations for ERP and CRM
• Ensure that reporting tools are providing accurate and useful insights to the organization
• Oversee resources, staffing, budgets well as the support and development of a best-in-class team
• Mentor team members including regular performance reviews and ongoing feedback
• Responsible for the management and execution of project plans and delivery commitments
