We\xe2\x80\x99re seeking a trailblazing leader, with an entrepreneurial mindset, for the role of Director, Cultivator. Responsible for the overall strategy, budget, direction, and execution of Cultivator and all related activities to ensure it is a high-performance, high-value, and sustainable endeavor for all stakeholders.

How you\xe2\x80\x99ll be spending your time

  • Leading Cultivator to support and grow innovative tech startups through providing: world-class programming, access to top investors from across Canada and beyond, and connection to experienced mentors and operators to help founders scale
  • Cultivating greatness requires a stellar team. You will be responsible for recruiting, developing, coaching, empowering and leading a team of individuals who are responsible for, through Cultivator, the support of high-growth early-stage tech companies
  • Leading all aspects/components of Cultivator, including:
  • program management: providing strategic direction for program development, creating key KPIs and performance markers, program delivery, founder engagement, etc .
  • recruiting top-tier startups to programming
  • development, management and maintenance of relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Building and maintaining a strong network of industry experts, investors, and stakeholders.
  • governance, policy and procedures
  • Overall reputation and brand of Cultivator while representing Cultivator locally and internationally as a key spokesperson and advocate for high-growth startups. Optimizing public speaking, networking etc.
  • Your influence will span continents as you represent Cultivator on the world stage showcasing Saskatchewan as a hub of innovation and excellence. With your powerful presence, you\xe2\x80\x99ll connect the dots and bring global opportunities closer to home.
  • Ensuring a clear strategic vision for Cultivator that aligns and supports the Conexus Strategy Map and Balanced Scorecard. Managing the effective communication of our strategic focus to all stakeholders both internally and externally
Due to the entrepreneurial nature of this role, flexible work hours are required.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be instrumental in their success and as a result the success of the tech incubator.

The experience you bring
  • Minimum 7-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 entrepreneurial experience/background
  • Post-Secondary degree in a relevant or related field or a relevant combination of experience and post-secondary education
  • Experience leading and empowering a high-performance team to achieve a common goal
  • Exceptional networking, relationship-building and communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of managing and/or developing a business incubator and accelerator programs
  • Proven experience mentoring/coaching/working with or in early-stage companies, including in the areas of product development, raising capital, go-to-market strategies, marketing and management
  • Knowledge and experience in identifying industry and government grant funding and strategic partnership opportunities, as demonstrated by a track record in successful grant applications
  • Experience working in the tech industry or a high-growth environment is an asset
  • Experience in Agriculture is an asset
