Job summary
We\'re searching for an experienced leader to join our team as a Director, Compliance, Risk and Assurance. In this role, you will report into the VP, Compliance, Risk and Assurance and be a vital member within the team, supporting senior leadership with key programs including the our corporate compliance and risk management frameworks.

You will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring Aurora\'s global compliance framework in a manner that promotes operational efficiency, ensures information reliability, and exceeds compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will have the opportunity to work broadly across the function on a variety of priority projects and initiatives, partnering with the business to implement risk strategies, processes, and business controls to enable our success. As the Director, Compliance, Risk and Assurance you will\xe2\x80\xa6

  • Work with senior management and business partners to plan, scope and execute on compliance and risk-management initiatives, with an emphasis on continuing to mature the organization\'s corporate compliance and oversight framework directly with the Executive Team and Board
  • Analyze findings and observations, draw appropriate conclusions, and make recommendations based on both technical guidance, risk-based analysis, and professional judgment
  • Support the business as a trusted advisor with the design, development and implementation of appropriate business process activities, controls, or other governance mechanisms to support appropriate organizational risk management and control
  • Support Executive-level reporting to respective Steering Committees and the Audit Committee of the Board on a regular basis
You will be setup for success if you have\xe2\x80\xa6
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or relevant discipline
  • 5 years of experience with leading corporate compliance, risk management, and governance and control functions in a highly regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, consumer products, food and beverage, or other manufactured goods (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Strong knowledge of the leading practice compliance, internal control and risk management frameworks (such as but not exclusive to NI52-109, GPP, GMP, COSO, ISO, PCI, or HITRUST CSF) with experience implementing or testing compliance and control objectives with large publicly-listed companies
  • Prior experience leading sustainable change through the implementation of corporate compliance practices or improvements for companies with Canadian-based operations and workforce, with international subsidiaries

  • Experience working with Sage X3 and in the cannabis industry with a proficiency in cultivation and manufacturing knowledge
  • CPA (CA, CMA, or CGA) designation
