Inclusion Canada is currently recruiting for a

Director, Marketing & Communications

. This is a fulltime permanent position reporting to the Executive Director, Knowledge & Strategy. The Director, Marketing & Communications leads the organization's communications and marketing strategies to increase public engagement and enhance the visibility and impact of Inclusion Canada. This role leads the development and execution of accessible and inclusive communications and marketing strategies that serve to challenge ableist assumptions of people with intellectual disabilities and their families and drive engagement across Canada. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a national organization leading a social change movement, using research and stories to change lives and defend rights.

Inclusion Canada employs a team that is distributed across Canada and remote work is possible for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities



Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with organizational goals and values

Direct the design and rollout of national campaigns focused on public awareness, policy advocacy and, and social change influence

Collaborate with policy and program teams to translate advocacy goals into accessible, engaging messaging

Oversee production of multi-format campaign materials, including video, print, social media, and interactive content

Oversee media relations, crisis communication response and public messaging, crafting statements and speaking points that reflect the values and priorities of Inclusion Canada

Oversee digital content strategy, ensuring web, email, and social media platforms work cohesively to build community and drive engagement, using analytics to inform digital content planning, improving reach and performance over time

Lead and mentor a team of staff, contractors, and creative partners across various projects and communications disciplines

Collaborate with member organizations across the country to align messaging and share content for joint initiatives

Competencies



A passion for social justice and equity issues, including the inclusion movement

Attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to remain organized and responsive to immediate needs while assessing action on long-term strategies

Critical thinking skills, including good judgment and the ability to discern information and messaging that is relevant to the mission and vision of the Organization

Deep understanding of accessible, inclusive communications practices

Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling ability

Strong media relations skills, including issue and crisis response management

Analytical and data-informed approach to evaluating communication impact

Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office 365, Wix, social media management and scheduling tools, and publishing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva

Collaborative approach and ability to work across diverse groups

Knowledge of the social justice sector, and particularly the disability sector, considered an asset

Qualifications



Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience in communications, journalism, marketing or related discipline

Demonstrated experience in senior communications or strategic marketing roles, preferably in nonprofit or advocacy sectors

Demonstrated experience leading multi-channel campaigns and brand strategy

Deep understanding of media and public relations, strategic communications and digital marketing

Excellent writing, analytical, communication, and computer skills

Verbal and written skills in both official languages (English and French) an asset

Knowledge of or lived experience with disability, accessibility standards, inclusive design, or social justice issues is an asset

Anticipated start date: January 12th 2026, with flexibility

Location: Remote, Canada

Details: 35hrs/week with comprehensive benefits

Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually depending on experience
