Director, Technology and communication infrastructure has global accountability for implementation and operational support of communications and workplace technology infrastructure. Accountabilities for this role include implementation of infrastructure components including engineering, design, installation as well as operational support issues within RBC workplaces. The role will manage key relationships with technology and communication partners within Corporate Real Estate (CRE) partners, Technology and Operations (T&O) and other Business Units (BU) within RBC.
The role will also be responsible for managing key suppliers including procurement as well as contract and performance management.
What will you do?
Responsible for establishing a strategic direction for implementation/delivery and support of network and communication infrastructure to ensure alignment with the organization's ever-changing technology needs.
Manage a team dedicated to technology delivery and operations, ensuring business needs are addressed in alignment with RBC priorities and best
Lead/ participate in the development of technical standards and annual reviews in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including T&O and Workplace Technology teams ensuring the Bank is well-positioned within its related industry.
Participate in technology innovation activities including providing feedback on related technologies including capabilities and hardware selection.
Manage relationships with RBC business groups and IT, ensuring all the key stakeholder's opinions, concerns, and strategic directions are addressed.
Monitor user satisfaction associated with your service across the Bank including satisfaction with vendors and procurement support.
Ensures that all procurement activities/processes relative to this category are both effective and efficient.
Coordinate operational activities such as: Circulars; Follos; Catalogue, etc
Must-have
10-12 years' experience in technology, infrastructure, communications, IoT and workplace collaboration tools.
Experience in technical co-coordination for in-building cabling infrastructure
Experience in delivering network infrastructure for real estate projects in a global organization
Responsible for overseeing the management of business operations, client satisfaction and insuring that the Bank is positioned competitively in the industry.
Experience directing and influencing the concurrent sign off with Bus/FUs/Gus for specific category procurement expenditures
Experience leading teams as a people manager.
Working experience with vendor management and project management within infrastructure.
Nice to Have
Deep understanding of Network operations
Familiarity with Voice Infrastructure and provisioning
Familiarity with Audio Visual technology
