The Opportunity
This is an existing position and an active vacancy. The Director, Client Services is responsible for determining and delivering client centered services that integrate with other SCIO portfolios to support the Strategic Plan. This position promotes service innovation through evidence-based practice to increase client access to quality assured services while securing significant revenues, funding, contract and/or new service offerings through building relationships with government funders and other agencies.
We are looking for an individual to lead our Client Service programs - Service Navigation, Peer Support and Employment Services. The successful candidate understands and champions the importance of philanthropy in achieving the organization's mission through establishing and maintaining functional working relationships with government grant authorities, ensuring budgets and business plans are prepared, monitored and reported according to government expectations and the SCIO annual operating plan. This position is based out of the Provincial office in Toronto for a minimum of 4 days per week.
Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and working closely with the senior leadership team, the Director, Client Services, provides strategic leadership, direction and management as it relates to:
Develop strategic direction, service standards and outcome targets for all Client Services programs.
Lead the development, execution, operationalization and sustainability of innovative service delivery models, service enhancements and expansion.
Secure significant revenues, funding, contracts and new service offerings to enhance the financial stability and viability of SCIO.
Assure that SCIO is strategic, coherent and compelling in its engagement of clients, members, supporters, donors, community partners and other key stakeholders
Leads development of effective relationships with acute care, rehabilitation and community service providers
Implement and execute our strategic plan and evaluate the key performance indicators
Contribute to and support a culture of best practices across the organization province-wide
Assess and monitor organizational risk and provide strategies to address and mitigate risks including emerging trends
Drive inter-portfolio collaboration with a high performing team and external service providers
Manage direct reports to ensure timely achievement of department goals while demonstrating solution-based decision making and performance management
Assists in the success of SCIO initiatives by actively supporting and participating in special events and projects
Act as the lead for various committees (Privacy, Quality, French Language Services)
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years proven track record of strategic and operational success, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity supervising staff service delivery
Undergraduate degree, in rehabilitation, social work, psychology or related discipline, registered Health Care Practitioner, an asset
Combination of training and/or relevant experience in volunteer management, disability issues, program development and program management
Knowledge of the issues faced by people with SCI and their families
Proven knowledge of organizational, planning and time management skills
Proven knowledge of budget and business plan preparation and execution
Proven track record of building and maintaining effective partnerships and fund-generating initiatives. Proven understanding of fundraising for advocacy and social venture causes
Ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines and function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities.
Critical understanding of values-based, volunteer driven, charity/not-for-profit organizations
Willingness to work outside of regular business hours and provincial travel as may be necessary, on occasion
Bilingual (English/French), an asset
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $163,600 per year
