Job Description



What is the opportunity?



The Director, CFO Delivery Hub Execution Assurance will be responsible for the Execution Assurance of the Finance Delivery Hub and CFO Portfolio project portfolio. This role will lead a team of Execution Assurance practitioners to ensure projects are executed following the Enterprise Initiative Management Framework (EIMF) and approved delivery, risk and change methodologies to support our partners in meeting their strategic and stewardship objectives.


The Director ensures alignment and compliance to Enterprise PRG Delivery standards, owns resourcing management and tracking of delivery practitioners to projects and monitors for success while providing learning opportunities through coaching and other learning formats to build key delivery capabilities and skills and provides thought leadership and promote execution excellence to support portfolio reporting requirements. Responsible for team succession, and talent planning. Acts as COO Risk Lead, while leading key initiatives that support the PMO's target operating model and implementation of key components. Identify areas of opportunity, create strategic plans and execute against the plan to drive improvements to optimize program delivery

What will you do?




Execution Assurance

Provide oversight, direction, and coaching to the project practitioners within their teams and review all project status reports, milestone artefacts, project plans and issue-risk logs for sufficient details, ratings, and comments for accuracy. Ensures compliance to policy, procedures, and the CFO Delivery Hub ways of working. Raise the technical and behavioral knowledge of the Project Management Professionals through various courses, seminars, and in-house training relative to the areas of PMBOK, Financial Acumen and other Functional areas (and related Project management frameworks (EIMF, LPgMF, AMF)), compliance and audit. Create a professional career pipeline for PM professionals and manage/maintain professional accreditations.

Strategic Initiatives

Evolve and elevate the PMO by leading key target operating model initiatives on behalf of the team, continuously identifying areas for improvement, and organizing, coordinating, and managing execution. Drive value in unit and department to develop better solutions, leverage best practices and achieve an agile and growth mindset while maintaining focus on priorities. Champions and builds expertise in delivery. Contribute to the on-going maturity, quality, and speed of delivery through the improvement of agile, project management methods, processes, tools, standards, and best practices. Owns resource management processes as well as CFO portfolio reporting

People Leadership

Lead a team of 1 - 10 full-time direct/indirect and contingent workforce project practitioners responsible for the Execution Assurance of project CFO portfolio which are medium/large in scale of complexity, risk (specifically Project Risk: Investment and Delivery and Operational Risk). Mentor, coach and develop project managers/scrum masters to become accountable decision-makers able to support strategic projects independently and report on progress through practice management routines and coaching Identify talent, manage, and develop teams for future growth within department and organization.

What do you need to succeed?



Must Have



Post-secondary degree in business or business-related studies 5+ years of experience working in a mid- to large-size corporate environment 8+ years' experience in Project/Program Delivery and 5+ years People Management experience Experience with large-scale organizational change Organizational awareness Strong Project and Program management skills. Exceptional communications and change management skills; demonstrated skill at producing succinct and factual documentation/content to guide discussions and decisions Ability to define and track key metrics that demonstrate value for data-driven decision making Comfort with ambiguity; track record of success at turning operational inefficiencies into defined initiatives that lead to project/program improvements. Ability to thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment while handling multiple concurrent activities supported by excellent organizational skills Customer-focused and results-oriented Strong ability to impact and influence without formal authority; confident and approachable and able to deliver results by building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders Knowledge of Agile values, principles and frameworks, champions Business Agility Experience working with Planview and collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, Webex Teams, MURAL, and Connect (Jive) Self-starter, comfortable thinking through disparate processes, systems, solutions, and areas to leverage enterprise linkages to support successful change
