About the Opportunity

Our client who is located in Ottawa is looking for a Director, Capital Finance & Treasury to join their growing team. This is an amazing opportunity where you would be leading the planning, monitoring, and reporting of the organizations $600M+ worth of on-book capital assets and $500M+ multi-year capital plan. This is in addition to being the Finance lead for strategic projects, such as, the multi-billion-dollar Development Project and other strategic projects supporting the organizations strategic and regional objectives.

The Director is also accountable for overseeing all treasury services by developing and managing strategies, operational procedures, and policies with the objective of ensuring the organization is able to meet its cash obligations to fund its multi-year operational plans, capital plans and strategic projects.

Within their own team, the Director, Capital Finance & Treasury ensures that safety learning and accountability systems are used and applied consistent with a just culture, and that their leaders are closing the loop on inspections, incidents, risk assessments and other staff safety issues, to ensure continuous improvement.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • At least ten years leadership experience in Health Services, Public Sector, or Financial Services
  • Progressive financial accounting and reporting management experience, including people management/supervision and application of internal controls, financial practices, and procedures
  • Experience developing and revising of financial policies for capital structure, working capital, treasury operations, interest rate risk management and multi-year capital planning
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, borrowing/debt facilities, investments, foreign exchange, treasury operations, financial risk management and corporate finance initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting principles, internal control concepts, and relevant industry legislation
