Commissionaires, Victoria, the Islands and Yukon (CVIY) is looking for a Director, Business Development, IT and Security Services. Situated in beautiful Victoria, BC this role will be based at our Head Office on Cloverdale Avenue.

The Role

The Director, Business Development, IT & Security Services reports to the CEO and is part of the Executive Team. The successful person will lead the business development function for CVIY by growing our current security services , identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and creating innovative solutions to meet clients needs and thereby drive revenue growth. This important role will be accountable to develop the organization\xe2\x80\x99s strategic partnerships while aligning with CVIY\xe2\x80\x99s 2021/2024 Strategic Business Plan and corporate objectives.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees internal and contracted IT services for the division, with the ability to advance the function.
  • Oversees the growth and expansion of the division\xe2\x80\x99s Live Video Monitoring services.
  • Identifies potential clients, customers and industry trends through market research that align with CVIY\xe2\x80\x99s Strategic Business Plan
  • Generates leads and build a pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Cultivates relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Collaborates with BD Manager and others to create tailored proposals and presentations.
  • Drives revenue growth through new customer acquisition and account management and identify new sales strategies.
  • Conducts market research to stay ahead of industry trends, customer needs, and competitors.
  • Collaborates with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and finance, to ensure customer satisfaction and business success.
  • Attends industry events and conferences to promote the company and its services.
  • Conducts cold-calling campaigns to promote the company\xe2\x80\x99s products and build an opportunity pipeline.
  • Identifies new sales opportunities and drive the sales process from initial contact to signed contract.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex contracts.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Experience negotiating and managing information technology contracts.
  • Excellent customer service skills, and ability to drive a service first culture.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with both individuals and in group situations.
  • Develops client relationships to build and manage a sustained pipeline of opportunities.
  • pro-actively hunting for target organizations requiring security services that CVIY provides.
  • The ability to set up self-generated sales appointments with prospective clients.
  • Creating and presenting proposals to prospects is a key requirement in this role.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks and system administration.
  • Experience leading, developing, and implementing information management and information technology policies, programs and projects in a complex systems environment including data security and data management.
  • Experience managing and mentoring professional staff, project teams and divisional budgets
  • Experience in strategy development and execution, as well as planning and implementation of large-scale IT initiatives from end-to-end
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft technologies is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate change, build consensus and communicate effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders (both technical and non)
  • Selects efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software.
  • Assists in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
  • Creating, developing, and owning the IT infrastructure and technology roadmap for the organization ensuring alignment with leadership\'s strategic objectives and NIST requirement
  • Manages the software lifecycle (i.e., requirements, maintenance, change management, continuous integration, and release management).
Education and Experience
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Security certification e.g., ASIS (preferred)
  • 5 or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience effectively leading cross functional teams
  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales selling security services
  • Proven project management and sales process skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Self-motivated with a drive to exceed targets
  • Ability to travel to clients and sites as needed
