System Job Title: Credit Mgr8

Leader Name: Chris Edel, Managing Director - Agriculture and Energy

As ATB\xe2\x80\x99s next Director, Business Credit, you will be responsible for providing positive adjudication, profitable growth and management of ATB\xe2\x80\x99s Agriculture Banking loan portfolio. Generally, this will encompass Agriculture, Agri-business and Agri-foods industry transactions generally ranging from $1 to $25 million. Support is also provided to Small Business adjudication teams.

As with all positions within Credit, their primary focus will involve reviewing and making sound credit decisions on all credit applications received within their area of responsibility, supporting the growth of a quality book of business and living the Credit brand and ATB\xe2\x80\x99s Credit Risk Philosophy and Appetite.

Director, Business Credit Accountabilities:

• Maintain a mastery level of knowledge in their area of responsibility and credit risk
• Ensure the policies, procedures, products or services they are responsible for remain current, competitive, relevant, and simple.

• Make sound credit decisions, applying a managed risk philosophy, ensuring we balance the needs of ATB and the client, providing simple approvals, and ensuring ATB\xe2\x80\x99s risk appetite is respected.
• Work within the delegated specific lending limits.

• Assume ownership of the adjudicated files and projects they have responsibility for.
• Maintain a positive partner experience 100% of the time and both our Service Level Agreement and Productivity standards.
• Provide client coaching and/or mentoring on transactions or policy related matters.

• Continuously adapting to the changing environment that they work within.
• Working collaboratively with other Credit team members and those within the Areas of Expertise.
• Develop or re-designing processes and products to be simple and effective.

Requirements

As the ideal candidate you possess:

• Minimum 5 years small to mid-market Agriculture lending experience in the financial services industry.
• Experience in the diversified or Agri-business lending sector would be an asset.
• Experience as a Relationship Manager or in a Credit adjudication capacity is desirable.
• Post-secondary education in Business, Agriculture, CFA, MBA or an equivalent discipline would be an asset.
• While not required initially, you will be required to develop a mastery level of knowledge of the industries and the policy/products/processes that will be assigned.
• The intuitive ability to balance a number of diverse transactions and arrive at a sound decision and structure quickly.
• The ability to identify and measure (both in terms of probability and quantity) risk and establish appropriate methods to monitor and manage.
• The successful candidate will be required to obtain their Credit Risk Certification and participate in Credit\xe2\x80\x99s Accreditation and Mastery programs.
• Possesses the leadership attributes supported by ATB (i.e., the intrinsic motivation and drive to excel; the ability to build sustaining relationships).
