What You'll Be Doing
CIBC Asset Management is among the largest asset managers in Canada with over $200 billion in assets under management. CIBC Asset Management offers and supports a variety of investment solutions and strategies to meet the needs of investors in the Institutional and Retail market segments.
The successful candidate will lead the marketing strategy and execution for the CIBC Asset Management brand and Institutional business. Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing the candidate will work closely with investment teams, institutional consultant relations and client servicing to support the goals and objectives of the institutional distribution team. The candidate will also work with the business and CIBC's enterprise brand partners to lead the strategy, evolution and ongoing governance of the asset management brand. Furthermore, the individual will work closely with marketing partners such as digital, events, thought leadership, compliance and design to bring the right value proposition, positioning, messaging, and channel strategies to life.

How you'll succeed

  • Marketing strategy development- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand the business objectives and develop a marketing strategy based on insights, market research and other relevant data to assist with growth and expansion of our Institutional business.
  • Campaign development and execution- Integrate business goals and project objectives to lead and develop compelling marketing campaigns across owned and paid media, working with internal and external agencies and media partners.
  • Marketing content creation- With a deep understanding of the industry and competitors, support the development and execution of institutional marketing across new marketing materials, digital content, communications, social media, as well as maintenance of existing marketing content.
  • Events and sponsorships- Support the calendar of industry sponsorships and publications, and provide recommendations of target events and publications to optimize the Institutional advertising and events strategy.
  • Product positioning and messaging- With a strong understanding of the investment industry, you will work closely with the product team to combine complex product information with expert storytelling to craft compelling positioning and messaging of our investment strategies.
  • Measure impact- Establish measures of success for marketing campaigns and share progress, insights, and recommendations for optimizing results with other team members and leaders across the organization.
Who You Are
  • You have a degree with a specialization in Marketing, Business or Commerce (CFA, CIM, CSC considered an asset).
  • You can demonstrate 7-10 years' experience of related marketing experience in the asset management industry, with three in the institutional channel. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the investment industry regulations and products. Experience in brand strategy and working with media, including advertising, sponsored content and PR. Working knowledge of platforms and tools such as Seismic, Adobe and Microsoft Office.
