The Opportunity: Reporting to the V.P. Asset Reliability, Industrial Engineering, and Sustainability Execution, this role is responsible for the overall Asset Management & Asset Reliability program, performance, maturity, modernization, and deployment of the central strategy across the Maple Leaf Foods Network (25+ factories). This will include being responsible for the network\'s asset reliability and mechanical/electrical downtime reduction, and setting direction for reliability, asset management, and maintenance across our global manufacturing facilities. Additionally, this role oversees creating and precisely executing on the strategic roadmap to move our Asset Reliability maturity toward world class. The Director will sustain and improve existing programs and processes and implement a robust preventative and predictive maintenance program, to increase equipment reliability and improve factory performance towards our strategic Reliability Bold Goal.Any MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by April 22. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life: \xe2\x80\xa2 Closely collaborates with factories (plant and maintenance managers) to ensure appropriate measures are in place to identify and remedy key reliability concerns.

  • Partners with manufacturing VP to refresh the Asset Reliability strategic roadmap and 5-year rolling execution plan for the organization.
  • Precisely deploys and executes on the strategic roadmap at all facilities.
  • Meets and exceeds reliability targets including network\'s Mechanical/Electrical Downtime, and Asset Reliability Maturity.
  • Deploys teams to assess/support factory performance, analyze gaps and set up a needs-based asset care program.
  • Identifies network/factories\' short/long term reliability risks and implement remediating actions.
  • Develops and directs implementation of centralized asset management activities across the network in support of the strategic roadmap, including Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Develops and maintains a multi-year maintenance capital plan for the entire network.
  • Creates and implements standardized processes and governance for all central programs.
  • Delivers technical direction and leadership for Reliability continuous improvement projects and capital projects.
  • Provides SME support for recruitment of key reliability staff at the factory level and provides training and development of same.
  • Represents the Reliability & Plant Maintenance teams at the Operational Excellence Systems Council.
  • Sets the direction and coordinates the development of a knowledge sharing network, training, and development programs.
  • Performs Global Industry Benchmarking of Asset Management and Reliability trends, methods, and KPI\'s.
  • Establishes direction and executes on the Asset Reliability\'s People Strategy including Maintenance Academy, Apprenticeship Program, Frontline Leadership Development, and DEI roles.
What You\'ll Bring:
  • BSc in relevant Engineering discipline from an accredited university (Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation).
  • 15+ years of post-degree experience in world-class asset intensive industries with a focus on Reliability, Automation, or Industrial High-Tech System implementation.
  • 10+ year of leadership experience, minimum 7 years of which as a leader-of-leaders (leading professionals)
  • Demonstrated progressive Plant-to-Corp and Tactical-to-Strategic experience and relate to challenges and opportunities from the shop floor to C-Suite.
  • Multi-site experience, leading various plants and a centralized/corporate function
  • Substantial experience leading complex large-scale programs (portfolio of projects).
  • Externally focused, people oriented, highly collaborative, prioritize the Voice of the Customer, and thrive in a highly demanding and complex network of matrix relationships.
