Job Description


The Director, Analytics will lead the expansion of the Bank\'s analytics center of excellence. The role will manage and grow our modelling team, increasing the breadth and depth of models for Credit Risk and Marketing. The Director will play a leadership role in enabling the strategic use of data and modelling assets across the business. This role requires strong analytical capability, proficiency with Data science technology, and knowledge of decision systems in a retail banking environment. Strong collaboration and people management, particularly the ability to mentor new team members, is critical as we expand this function to serve partners across Rogers Bank.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the evolution of data science and data enablement across the business.

Guide the expansion of Rogers Bank\'s modelling capabilities. Support the growing mandate of the modelling team with thought leadership as well as mentorship to new team members.

Lead the adoption of new data science and decision technology in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Collaborate with stakeholders (Credit Risk, Marketing, Operations, Vendors) to identify and prioritize data needs. Partner with Data Governance to ensure data quality and traceability and compliance with Bank standards.

Support cross-functional initiatives that require analytical support and/or decision automation functionality.

Project the impacts of model/analytics in terms of key business drivers, e.g. approval rates, activation rate, exposure, delinquencies, charge-offs.

Maintaining a sound analytical framework to help the business proactively identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks. Manage operational risk through proactive identification and effective monitoring.

Communicate results clearly to all stakeholders, including those without a technical background.

Build and maintain an effective relationship with key stakeholders, including Marketing, Finance, Operations, Audit, Legal & Compliance.

Required Qualifications:

10+ years experience in a data science role with a financial services company. 5+ years in a leadership role. Credit card experience preferred.

Collaborative and passionate leader who will share their knowledge and experience with others and encourage them to share their ideas.

Driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Proven track record of delivering impactful analytics/technology projects.

Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to engage and effectively manage relationships at all levels of the organization.

Data science skills must include direct experience using statistical programs such as SAS, Knowledge Studio, R Python; proficient with the use of database querying tools such as SQL;

Experience with credit risk decisioning systems (TRIAD, ADM, Experian, Provenir).

Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or other quantitative field;

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Master\'s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or other Quantitative field;
