ABOUT THE TEAM

The Data Governance Team is part of the Enterprise Data Platform team, reporting in the Technology, Data and Operations department. The objectives of the Data Governance team are to create an efficient company-wide organization to manage data effectively and ensure clean, consistent data for all business lines within the company.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As a Director, Data Governance, you will work closely with multiple functional groups across several lines of business, to drive the development and management of strategic goals and objectives for all divisions of the firm. You will be accountable for establishing the governance model, business rules and data requirements that align with each department\xe2\x80\x99s goal. You will:

  • Define a process and team to establish Data Governance of data for the company supporting operational and analytical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technology and business units to drive the definition, prioritization, and implementation of data initiatives.
  • Design documentation and deploy consistent enterprise-wide data definitions, processes, and ownership, by establishing efficient metadata management practices and monitoring the completeness and accuracy of metadata.
  • Define and report on key metrics related to operational quality of data.
  • Develop effective relationships with business areas to oversee the delivery of data-related services to them.
  • Partner in the development of Data Management standards as needed to effectively manage data across the firm.
  • Consult on projects and providing data training and education to business and IT.
  • Establish a culture of analytics and using new technologies to support business expansion.
  • Implement and maintain ethical data practices.
  • Design, maintain and present data governance maturity reporting to Data Governance and other management teams.
WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL NEED
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in mathematics, business administration, statistics or computer science (or similar)
  • Strong analytics background
  • Significant data management experience within a buy side firm, including understanding of best practices in data quality operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data governance practices and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the business
  • Approachable and open minded
  • Enjoys problem solving
  • Proactive in establishing processes and the best ways of working
  • Bilingualism: English and French (Frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
