Le candidat s\xc3\xa9lectionn\xc3\xa9 devra participer et superviser la production artistique d\'un nouveau IP s\'installant \xc3\xa0 Montr\xc3\xa9al. Le directeur artistique sera le lien principal entre l\'\xc3\xa9quipe de graphistes, le directeur de projet, le directeur cr\xc3\xa9atif et le directeur artistique du studio au studio de Montr\xc3\xa9al pour un nouveau titre en 3D sur PC/Consoles.

• D\xc3\xa9finir le style artistique du jeu tout en respectant la direction artistique cr\xc3\xa9ative initiale.
• Participer au lancement d\'un tout nouvel IP
• Transmettre les attentes au niveau de la qualit\xc3\xa9 et du contenu (d\xc3\xa9cors, environnements, personnages) \xc3\xa0 l\'\xc3\xa9quipe de graphistes (artistes concept, artistes environnements, artistes de personnages, \xc3\xa9quipe animation) en se servant de r\xc3\xa9f\xc3\xa9rences visuelles pertinentes, de concepts, de designs d\xc3\xa9taill\xc3\xa9s et de r\xc3\xa9f\xc3\xa9rence d\'ambiance atmosph\xc3\xa9rique.
• \xc3\x89laborer des normes de qualit\xc3\xa9 \xc3\xa9lev\xc3\xa9es.
• Superviser et approuver le travail effectu\xc3\xa9 par l\'\xc3\xa9quipe de graphistes pour que les \xc3\xa9l\xc3\xa9ments produits respectent la vision du jeu et r\xc3\xa9pondent aux normes de qualit\xc3\xa9.
• Assurer la maintenance et l\'\xc3\xa9volution du pipeline de production artistique.

• Faire des rapports au directeur de projet et au directeur artistique du studio.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will participate and supervise an artistic production for a new IP coming to our Montreal studio. The art director will act as the primary link between the Montreal studio\'s graphics team, the project manager, the creative director, and the studio art director on a new 3D title for PC/Consoles

• Defining the game\'s art style, while complying with the creative vision of the initial art direction
• Participation in lauNching a new IP
• Conveying expectations, both in terms of the level of quality and content (backgrounds, environments, characters), to the graphics team (concept artists, environment artists, character artists, animation team) by making use of the pertinent visual references, concept art, production design, and atmosphere materials
• Developing high standards of quality
• Supervising and approving work completed by the graphics team to ensure that the elements produced comply with the vision for the game, as well as meeting standards for quality
• Guiding the development and ensuring the maintenance of the flow of artistic tasks
• Providing guidance and advice to the team, as well as managing freelancers and outside studios, if necessary
• Providing reports to the project manager and the studio art director
• Ensuring that the artistic framework, schedule and budget are all abided by

Qualifications

Exigences

• Un minimum de 5 ann\xc3\xa9es d\'exp\xc3\xa9rience comme directeur artistique, artiste concept senior ou chef artiste sur des projets console/PC AAA
• Excellentes comp\xc3\xa9tences artistiques et techniques (artiste concept, illustration, sculpt/modeling haute r\xc3\xa9solution, design IU).
• Expertise avec des outils de production graphique 2D/3D. Connaissance des outils de compositing et des moteurs de rendu, un atout.
• Expertise technique avec les principaux moteurs graphiques sur le march\xc3\xa9.
• Apte \xc3\xa0 s\'adapter \xc3\xa0 diff\xc3\xa9rents syst\xc3\xa8mes de suivi de la gestion/des donn\xc3\xa9es (SVN Tortoise, Perforce, etc.).
• Avoir d\xc3\xa9j\xc3\xa0 particip\xc3\xa9 au lancement d\'un nouvel IP

Comp\xc3\xa9tences et profil

• Passionn\xc3\xa9 des jeux vid\xc3\xa9o et int\xc3\xa9r\xc3\xaat pouss\xc3\xa9 pour des styles photor\xc3\xa9aliste/cin\xc3\xa9matographiques.
• D\xc3\xa9montre une ma\xc3\xaetrise de l\'illustration, de l\'animation et du design graphique avec polyvalence pour les d\xc3\xa9cors, les personnages et les \xc3\xa9l\xc3\xa9ments de l\'IU.
• Poss\xc3\xa8de une excellente connaissance des principes d\'anatomie et de design.
• Poss\xc3\xa8de un bilan positif en d\xc3\xa9veloppement, mentorat et gestion d\'\xc3\xa9quipes de graphistes multidisciplinaires.
• Excellente connaissance/philosophie du d\xc3\xa9veloppement d\'un jeu et des r\xc3\xa9alit\xc3\xa9s de la production d\'un point de vue technique et conceptuel.
• Communicateur et diplomate. Peut mobiliser et inspirer une \xc3\xa9quipe.
• Regard aiguis\xc3\xa9 et critique, apte \xc3\xa0 exprimer ses id\xc3\xa9es.
• Ind\xc3\xa9pendant, rigoureux et poss\xc3\xa9dant un excellent sens de l\'organisation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an art director, senior concept artist, or lead artist on AAA console/PC projects
• Excellent artistic and technical skill sets (concept art, illustration, high-resolution sculpting/modelling, UI design)
• Expertise with 2D/3D next-gen production tools (knowledge of rendering engines and of compositing is an asset)
• Technical expertise with the main graphics engines on the market
• Able to adapt to different management/data-monitoring systems (TortoiseSVN, Perforce, etc.)
• Already participated in the launch of a new IP

Skills and Profile

• Passionate about video games, with a strong interest in photorealistic/cinematic styles
• Demonstrates mastery of illustration, animation, and graphic design with versatility regarding backgrounds, characters and UI elements
• Possesses excellent knowledge of the principles behind anatomy and design
• Possesses a positive track record in terms of developing, mentoring, and managing multidisciplinary graphics teams
• Excellent knowledge/reasoning when it comes to game development and the realities of production, both from technical and conceptual standpoints
• Tactful and a strong communicator, able to mobilize and inspire a team
• Critical with a keen sense of observation, and able to express their ideas
• Independent, rigorous and equipped with excellent organisational skills
