Overview:

We are looking for a positive, reliable Support Worker for Justin. Justin is a non-verbal young adult with autism living in his own home in Swan River. He requires 24 hour support.

Work Location:

Personal Residence in Swan River, MB

Schedule:

Full-time and Part-time available - Days, Evenings and Overnights available

Job Duties:

Providing Justin with emotional and practical support as required Assisting with personal care needs, including dressing, feeding, and toileting Monitoring health care needs, including administering medication Promoting Justin's independence Basic food preparation, housekeeping, and documentation

Job Requirements:

Ability to focus on Justin's care and remove external distractions (including your cell phone) required Energetic and positive attitude required Strong interpersonal skills required Ability to read body language required Ability to work on a team required De-escalation and conflict resolution skills required

Assets/ Nice to haves:

Experience working with people with autism Experience as a support worker Holding a valid driver's license NVCI preferred

Checks and Certifications:

Clear criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) required Clear adult abuse registry check required Must have valid CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
