HIGH SUPPORT PROGRAM in Oshawa ON.

We are seeking a

Program Lead

to support and guide the DSP 1 staff team on shift.



Direct Support Provider - Level 2 - Program Lead 27.00/hr (30.00 with PCE)

CHC is seeking a:

DSP Level 2 - Program Lead



Required Qualifications:

Completion of a Human Services Diploma from a Community College or University or a DSW, CYW, SSW from a Community College or Ministry approved private Career College and

3 years of related experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, complex behaviours, and additional staff supervision experience.

Solid understanding of Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and additional complex needs.

Strong leadership and coaching skills, ability to support staff in a direct service capacity working side by side. Strong interpersonal skills and a caring approach to working with adults with a developmental disability. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience supporting individuals with daily care requirements, behavior support plans and individual support plans. Ability and interest to be a positive member of a dynamic team. Must have the ability to physically support young adults and adults with complex needs. Ability to complete and perform Crisis Intervention training - training provided as part of employment. Understanding of Quality Assurance Measures an asset, training provided.

Valid driver's License

with a

G.

Valid CPR and First Aid Certification. Successful completion of a VSS police check.
Medical clearance in accordance with CHD policy on pre-employment medicals.

Job Location - High Support - Oshawa ON

Position Status - Full Time -

days, evenings and occasional weekends are required



Hours of work - 40 hours per week

About the Role:

The DSP 2 will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of frontline staff during their schedule shifts, they will ensure staff are completing duties as required, all policies and procedures are followed, standards of care are adhered to and will support staff with direct supervision.

In addition, the DSP 2- provides direct support and supervision to individuals supported by CHD. The DSP 2 follows the expectations laid out in the shift plan and the Individual Support Plans. DSP 2 will ensure constant support with activities of daily living and ensure that individuals are always safe and engaged in meaningful activities during their day.

In this role you will:

Support and lead a group of full-time and part time professionals in supporting individuals with complex special needs in a high-quality residential environment. This role requires you to:

Lead staff in the implementation of their duties and the following of organizational policies and protocols Provided primary care and supervision to staff and individuals supported by Marsh Hill Homes. Support staff in providing care to individuals with activities of daily living. Provide support and coaching to staff who are supporting individuals in the areas of social skills, communication, and preferred recreational activities. Contribute to solutions to barriers that may impact the quality of life of individuals we support and ensure individuals goals are met. Support staff to understand and follow

Behavioural Support Plans

, Crisis Support Protocols as documented and directed. Administer Medication as required and trained. Provide on-call support to the program as part of the leadership team. Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their family, and care teams. Work with the Program Lead DSP 2 in the Quality Assurance process as well on ongoing staff development needs, administrative duties, and any other duties as may be required.
