Our team of 150+ professionals provide outstanding supports and services to people who live with an intellectual disability and their families throughout Prince Edward County. Every day, we support people to live with dignity, participate in our community and feel respected as valued citizens.

We're actively seeking recent graduates and experienced Direct Support Professionals to expand our team in Picton, Ontario.

About Your Role



In this role, you will...

Be directly responsible for enhancing the quality of life of people who live with an intellectual disability Assist people with developing and achieving their Person Directed Plans, goals and outcomes Support people with independent living in the areas such as budgeting, cooking, home maintenance, grocery shopping, etc. while promoting independence Assist people to maintain their personal residence while promoting independence. i.e. house, apartment, etc. Implement plans and strategies to connect people to community activities and events in alignment with their personal outcome measures inclusive of cultural, spiritual, recreational, leisure, educational, employment and community activities as identified by the person Promote healthy lifestyles and assists people with medical, dental and other professional appointments as directed by the person and/or their family Assist people and directly participate, as required, with people in volunteerism, social, cultural, spiritual, recreational, leisure, educational and community activities which align with their personal outcome measures and goals. Work co-operatively with community partners to engage people we serve in the life of the community inclusive of medical professionals, landlords, legal professionals, employers etc.
Hours of work will be flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends based on the needs of people we support.

Thoughtful, creative professionals who take initiative, foster inclusivity and are champions of supporting people to live their best possible lives Human Services graduates (DSW, SSW, BST, CYW) DCS / DEC (required), who seek a part time role in an organization that champions continuous improvement, employee growth and supporting people to live, learn, participate and work in the community Current CPR and First Aid certificates (renewal costs are compensated) Excellent interpersonal, communications, organizational and teamwork skills Ability to problem solve, adapt to changing circumstances, lead and mentor colleagues Valid G Class Driver's License, access to a reliable vehicle is required (if personal car used, mileage is compensated) Candidates who can reliably commute or plan to relocate to Prince Edward County before starting work (required) Proof of full COVID19 vaccination - a minimum of two doses - based on current Health Canada definition
